Is the iPad volume at max on the second video? Is the test being generated at 0db? It's hard to see.. Also lower the frequency to 200-300 Hz, your DMM is spec'd to 400 Hz.

I wonder if there's any volume limiting going on with the iPad. That would translate to 100% volume not being 0dB. However, seeing a lower output voltage when playing music is completely normal, as no song has a constant 0dB level, which is why using test tones is necessary.

I don't think we've yet seen any positive confirmation a 0db signal is being used for this test.

Do you have another digital device that can feed the dac a signal/tones . Ideally a pc running software others know.

I really do hope it's on the input side. Ain't nobody wants to find out either I devices can't output full strength or a popular dac has issues.

I dont sir.... This is my 3rd,(other 2 where not tested) Amazon has been very nice in the return area through this whole adventure.... Headphones, amps, dacs, lol, waiting for them to ban me.....

PC netted same results. Regardless of test tone or music, it was the same results..... Did not use any altering / refining apps.. Did exactly as I have shown with the Ipad.. IDK.. Even in a perfect situation tone / 0db, it still doesn't change the fact that The variable (Music) side is what the system is intended for..

Just play music like normal. Turn up the amplifier if needed. Music normally has much lower RMS level. So it's all good.
