Hi guys,

I would like to buy the E1DA 9038D. I'm not very experienced but I have seen the excellent measurements.

Here are my two questions.

1. Is the 9038D capable of driving headphones like the Sennheiser hd600 / hd660?

2. Is the 9038D capable of driving very sensitive headphones (for example the AKG K371)?

Alternatively, I am considering purchasing the Tempotec Sonata Hd Pro

Yes, to comfortable high levels.

I guess you are referring to possible background noise here. You need to try it first, although with it's SNR of 83 dB @ 50mV output it might have little to no noise at all on these 114 dB sensitive headphones.

Without similar measurements makes no sense to trade it for the E1DA.

Look at the Shanling UA-1, may be interesting...

The bar graph/chart includes 9038S measurements (balanced cables). 9038D is not measured by Amir yet.
OK, got it, so I am inviting @IVX to comment further, please.
Thank you!

Any news on this 9038D on sensitive headphones? Just ordered it for a pair of Sennheiser hd540 gold.

How about volume, isn't it much too loud?
Does the 9038d have some hardware volume control?
Yes, and with the app you can set a max limit too.

But I mean how does the hardware volume work :)

It doesn't exactly answer your question but if you read on from this post there is a discussion about hardware/software volume control that may be of interest.

Also you can reduce the max volume via the app or by some magical volume slider movement (no I'm not joking!)
