I am considering DX3 Pro+ for my Qobuz subscription.
Does it work well withe the Qobuz Windows app?

Is there a way to tell if the sample rate has actually changed? Does the display show it?

I am currently using DH80S as my DAC AMP. Will you personally recommend this upgrade? Fan of Metal / rock music here.

The headset is a simple Sony MDR-1A but will upgrade them later as well.

I do not own the DX3 Pro+, so I don't have personal experience that I could base a recommendation off of.

What genres of music you enjoy is irrelevant for choosing DACs and Amps.

The MDR-1A is an extremely efficient headphone, so no problem whatsoever for the Pro+ (or for the $9 Apple dongle for that matter)

The DX3 Pro+ is a nice device if you have headphones sensitive enough to take full advantage of it. For me I don't have this option because I use heavy Planars that all need more power than the DX3 provides.
However if you use efficient headphones like the ones you mentioned (and don't plan to buy Heavy Planars) then you only need a DX3 because the performance is already great!
