Price performance is a very personal subjective judgement in my view. A good quality well measuring system which gives me limited enjoyment, don’t use that much and sell off is not good value compared to a more expensive system which I enjoy more, easy to use and I use more. An even more expensive system which doesn’t give me more pleasure isn’t better value.

I will have a listen and play with the software/ease of compared to other options and only then can I decide if it is good value or not.

Have the drivers be reworked apart from the size constraints compared to 8c? I value low distortion as a quality indication of good engineering and it was the only critic I had with the 8C which didn’t exactly excel in that regard compared to other speakers in that price range.

Roon is the best and easily most reliable playback software I have used.

Thanks, my dealer is also a fan. Just not quite the simplicity of streaming direct from Apple Music and would mean additional hardware and subscription. I do also like the Meta data. Takes me back to Vinyl sleeves and more. It is just a bit scary when you are spending that much on speakers and using a connection and a software that you are not used to compared to streaming directly on WiFi.

Roon just runs on your laptop, nothing additional needed.

It looks like the 6c has a different tweeter and midrange, but the same woofer as the 8c.

One thing about the distortion results is that the 8c is meant to be boundary coupled (placed close to the front wall), so in practice distortion will be lower.

Just stream from phone. I understand rightly or wrongly that you can use the roon app on phone as controller but you need a computer or roon hardware wired to Ethernet to run the software. Still an added layer compared to streaming directly from app and an added subscription. I fully appreciate that it brings additional benefits but I think the masses prefer to stream directly from their phone these days.

There are a few loudspeakers you can stream directly to, we have the KEF LS60s and LSXII here and they work well, a wired connection is more stable in my experience, I use a dedicated NUC to run Roon, compact/fanless just sits there always ‘on’.

Thanks yes plan to compare with KEF and would get NUC if prefer Dutch and Dutch. I find my gigabit internet and Fritz WiFi network stable but Ethernet via powerline possible.

Would love to see the ability to render from Lyrion Music Server. I won't touch Roon because I don't accept the idea of a monthly service fee to play music that I already own. But I'm not going to hold me breath for that; does anybody know what it would take to have PiCorePlayer send audio to these?

Also curious, are the 6c speakers internally doing 96x24 or 192x24?

I saw on Facebook that the 6c bass module is coming next year, and they are working on a separate one for the 8c.
