Dutch & Dutch 15C Discussion

You obviously haven’t met my German Shepherd land shark
It’d last less than two mins with her!

Hehe, I have a 50kg rottweiler mix myself, so I know what you're talking about - but I think it looks fairly sturdy. And at this point I guess this is a prototype / preproduction, so I'm sure they will ensure it is safe before selling it. :)

"D&D isn't really a "luxury" maker, just a very good one, being set at the crossroad of high end amateur Hifi and high quality and expensive monitoring pro audio."

I know the brand and its speakers quite well, so I totally agree with you, but my view is that the DD 15C is perhaps aimed more at convincing the luxury—or at least prestige—market than the well‑informed, purely rational buyer who is simply looking for the best performance tool that his budget allows. That type of buyer is already largely convinced.

My wife wanted to know if the three men came with them - and if they were also good with a vaccum cleaner?

They do look impressive. Even if they were affordable, it's not just our sitting room that'd be too small, the entire ground floor of the house would probably be too :D

I do wish D&D all the very best with them :)

P.S. Old-fashioned experiences here, but there's NOTHING like a large driver barely working, offering high levels at very low distortion. A piddly driver just can't do it - just look at the measured distortion figures here below 80Hz in so many of the smaller speakers reviewed here...

Friends, with this foot or any other one.
And considering the future price of these beauties, if there are more than three people or two kids, I’ll mark off the perimeter and add an electric fence if there’s a dog or a cat!!

I hope they are stable. Those things could kill a small child. Are they the largest stand mounted speakers ever?

For my small listening area, I'm pretty excited about the 6c.

This is silly.
Presumably they will eventually announce their specs.

Guessing the exact size is just a parlor game while we await confirmation of the $50k-$100k price tag.

This is silly.
That's not silly.
These are uncalibrated and approximate measurements using Image Meter Pro.The other measurements are calculated based on a known reference value.

I could make them accurate and perspective-adjusted, but you're right, the specifications will be published at some point anyway.
Until then—approximate values.

Well, it's not a few more or less centimeters and kilos which will change the obvious fact that they are VERY BIG (but not the biggest comprsseion plus 38 cm on the market).
And of course, D&D will soon publish precise dimensions, weight and full specs as they used to do. It's a very seriously competent brand.
Don't be impatient, folks, we're just chating for fun on a forum.

Image Meter Pro

If you have a photo and know one of the dimensions, you can calculate all the other dimensions.

PS
The reference is the woofer, which I specified as 36 cm. You can use a different value.

PPS
Please note that I have not taken perspective into account. Any errors are my fault, not the program's. That's great, very accurate and helpful.

It's probably not quite that tall.

The depth looks like 75cm at least? Crazy big.

I'd say 95cmx56cm is pretty close. Not uncommon common size for 15", maybe a little big. JBL 4367 is 94,1cmx56cm, e.g.

But I think the stand looks quite tall, acoustic axis will be high? For a standing audience or just big room?

Anyway, seems they have a design that scales well, so how about a 4c, 10c ,12c and finally an anniversary 18c, sometime in the future? :)

As for prices, the new Statement Six will be $31.000,- ex. VAT. For a pair. 6S (extension module, per pair): €21,550, so more than W371a.

So -

1. They're huge. No surprise.
2. Indeed, compression driver for the tweeter. No word on what they are.
3. All 3 woofers are custom designed, or at least will be.
4. tons and tons of amplifier on board, I want to say 5000W.
5. Not hooked up to hear so can't report on that.

What's the price, specs?

A bookshelf speaker weighting 100kg. Crazy. If this thing falls from a stand...

this one comes to mind:

No word on price. I suspect specs are still up in the air a little bit because they have essentially a "placeholder" driver for the midwoofer.
