Hello,

For my birthday, I purchased a few IEMs, just to know if I missed anything on the new generation of IEMs and the multi dirver systems. I tried a few and found the DUNU Titan S. It is not only the best IEM I have ever listened to, but also the best headphone I have used, I listened for hours.

Now comes the usual audiophile question, the Dunu Titans S is just 48€, so there must be others out there in the 100-300 € bracket, which could be better. I am going through lists of recommendations and bought a few, but non-matched my taste as the Dunu does.

Things I tried:
  • Aful Explorer
Veiled, but most colourful bass, I have ever listened to
  • Aful Magic One
Less Veiled, but I have the feeling, there is missing something
  • Moondrop Aria 2
Heavy big shell, starts to hurt, smooth, sometimes to much bass
  • Moondrop Chu 2
    Sharp highs, but otherwise good
  • 7Hz Zero 2
Too big can't fit the in my ears
  • Truthear Zero Red
Too much bass, too much highs
  • Binary Acoustics Chopin
Dry, awesome for gaming very pinpoint
  • EPZ P50
Nothing special, all is smooth, not exciting
  • Dunu Titan S
    Energetic, Detailed, Musical, Natural
  • RHA MA750
  • Sennheiser IE200
Not bad, but has a very strange fit in the ear
  • Truthear Hexa
Sitting in a way too bright room
  • Tangzu Wan'er
Too big can't fit in my ears
Maybe somebody has a recommendation for an upgrade, or maybe I will just listen to the Dunu as long as I enjoy them.

There's no direct upgrade, just things that may or may not fit your own taste/htrf.

There's also little correlation between increase in price and quality, as per the current research with multiple participants.

My conseil, then, is to enjoy the dunu you have for a while.

But if you want to scratch the "more expensive the better" itch, take a look at the JVC FDX1. It's a dead ringer to the Dunu in a more expensive package, with multiple tuning nozzles that you can swap for more or less bass and mid highs.

Ho no, this thread again with interchangeable brands and models.
Nice website, unfortunately the browser does not detect the language and my french is not existent. Did you create it from scratch or with a static site generator?

Will try to not scratch the itch for the next thing.

Uh interesting, could not find it in Europe, but will keep my eyes open.

there is no upgrade for the Titan S specifically imo.

you're just having an itch and just buying things to buy.
Stop

Thank you. This is google sites. I don't want to spend time on the design, I just want to spend time on the subject. With google sites it is 95% time writing and 5% on the presentation.

Just to be clear, you tried all those physical IEMs, not just EQ simulation? Your OP seggest you did try them physically, I just want to confirm.

It makes me want to try the Titan S if it compares that well to the options you compared it to. If it's performance stayed competitive to newer releases, then why overvalue shiny new things?

Thank you for the reply
We use google sites at my work place for the intranet.
For me at home I try to use opensource solutions, like mkdocs. Like you said it takes time to set up the site and templates, which is time consuming.

I guess over the years i understand that i don’t really look for the one iem. I like to try different iems and enjoy my music with a new few.
Most of the time the new things are not that different and not really worth the hype created around them.

I am great fan of FOSS and I am happy to work only with Linux and managing servers on Linux with open source softwares.

For my personal websites, I am lazy.

Anyway I think markdown format is my way.

I guess you are right. My list grew and grew and now I try to find the Moondrop Kato and Truthear Nova to try them. Horrible this itch.
