SO I finished my latest adventure in CLass D. Another TPA3255 board, well 2 actually. I picked up a few of these boards that offer running both stereo and Mono by just dip settings. I had some noise I couldnt resolve with a couple so they were retruned and the ones I ended up with are dead silent. Im using two Meanwell cageless supplies. THe Meanwell EPP-300-48 which is 48v at 6.5 amps. I usilized a chassis I got on the bay that allowed me to reuse some parts of it and it was mint condition. Its form an Episode EA amp. This amp sounds fabulous and powerful. Here are some internal shots. IMG_1160.JPGIMG_0941.JPGIMG_1158.JPGIMG_1161.JPGDual Mono CLass D Power amp .jpg

Is that ZK3002B? Do you like it, sir?

Yes it is. It’s a solid board now I believe. I had to go through a few boards to find two that had low noise. There was a revision to the boards and the first batch had noise issue. Very susceptible to interference etc. I’ve been running this dual mono amp everyday now for months for 5-8 hrs a day and I’m quite pleased.

This is not the B model however. This is the 3002 no Bluetooth etc. I’d stay away from Bluetooth with this board due to noise issue as mentioned previously

Where did you purchase your 3002 amps from? I bought one without Bluetooth off of Amazon about 6 months ago and it had all kinds of issues and ended up with no output. I like the idea of those amps because of how you can go from stereo to mono with the sip switches. I was thinking of trying another one.

Do you add volume control ? Because this ZK-3002 doesn't seem to have potentiometer/knob to adjust volume, all it has is volume control using screwdriver which seems painful to adjust (even though I prefer using my keyboard to adjust volume, but I prefer if an amp also has a volume control for easy adjustment)

I like that ZK-3002 doesn't have tone control so I can adjust tone using other device of my choice be it tube preamp, parametric/graphic equalizer, or use nothing and just depend on the source quality and the amplifier itself, but it doesn't have volume, the one with volume is ZK-3002B but noone imported it in my country. There is ZK-3002T but with tone control.

Mine didn't have a volume pot and it blew up before I even got past the testing phase. The 10k pot that's on board is very low quality and mine broke almost instantly. They say that's a set it and forget it Gain pot.

I see, doesn't matter much though, can just use the source's volume control. Kinda like car system with hidden amps and a head unit. Does it have soft start so it won't make any sound when turned on ?

Yeah I just used a Bluetooth module to test it and used my phones volume. I was going to put a 5k potentiometer in the enclosure if I ever got that far. I think it did have some form of an anti-pop MCU chip on it. At least that's what the Chinese called it I don't know anything about that. I had so many issues with my board because Wuzhi made design errors and actually recognized them. I ended up going with a tda7498e board and it's been pretty good. I know Wuzhi has since corrected the issues with the zk-3002 boards but was reluctant to buy another in fear of getting one from the old batch with issues.

I have a ZK-3002 (no suffix, no tone, no BT) pushing a small subwoofer with a 48 volt (54.6 to be exact) e-bike power supply, set to mono (PBTL) and fan on auto (DIP 1 on, DIP 2 off) and I didn't mess with the gain pot. Gain is not volume! (I know most of you know this but there's still a majority who don't) Gain is for matching signal voltage to the amplifier for clean sound. You need an oscilloscope or at least a good meter and line clamp (the latter a crude ballpark way at best) to set gain. Playing with the pot thinking it's a volume control will get you nowhere! The volume is controlled by the device that is feeding the amp a signal. My amp works just fine, no pop, no noise and with a good signal and adequate power, one should not have to fiddle with the gain.
