Dr. Toole's 4th Edition Book is Coming! (Discount)

Your wife's suggestion would cause you to miss a bunch of useful stuff:(.

Sorry about the problem. Only the publisher can help. Go to Routledge.com, scroll down to the very bottom - the dark blue area - and click on customer service. Good luck.
Good news, I followed the same steps on my PC rather than my phone, and it let me in.

from pg 14

> inappropriate frequency response target, as discussed in detail in chapter 18.1 in the third edition of this book (replicated in OR Chapter 1)

Anyone know what OR is?

The content of this book is fxed at publication, but there is supplemental information in the accompanying online content. That content will change with time. In the text, the online content available on the Routledge Resource Centre will be identifed by (OR). It can be accessed at: www.routledge. com/9781032761930

Toole, Floyd E.; Olive, Sean; Welti, Todd. Sound Reproduction: The Acoustics and Psychoacoustics of Loudspeakers, Rooms and Headphones (Audio Engineering Society Presents) (p. 6). (Function). Kindle Edition.

so, "Online Resources" I guess.

"Overview of the Research" is Chapter 1

Dr. Toole has shared a companion presentation for his book with us!

As his book is robust, the presentation is as well. We anticipate shorter more focused variations of this content in the future, so this one is targeted towards a more comprehensive view.

Happy reading. :)

This is great.

For those who don't have PowerPoint to view the PPSX file, the slide deck plays in the latest LibreOffice Impress 26.2.2.2 just fine, showing all the fancy animated effects apparently just as intended.

Thanks for the reminder as Dr. Toole wanted to preserve those animations. I had already tested on Linux Mint as I knew some members favored Linux. On Windows, also works fine for Office 365 subscribers.

If you just use the free online version of PowerPoint, you may have to start the slide show manually. Was my experience on one of my Windows 10 boxes.

If anyone prefers a smaller footprint version without the animations, can provide a PDF.

I only tested with Impress on Windows 11 - definitely a brain fart on my part for not even thinking that many people are using Linux.

Sitting in a lovely hotel room in Rome after a great golf-cart tour of this fascinating city. I have been here before, but I haven't tired of it.

Thank you for posting this slide show, Rick. I hope people find it a rewarding experience - either as a slightly different view of the book contents, or as an introduction to the book contents. Obviously, a lot of emphasis has been put on how purely subjective opinions, formed in everyday circumstances cannot lead anywhere certain.

The remarkable event that is changing the loudspeaker industry is the availability of spinoramas - thanks to people like Amir and Erin. These data have leveled the playing field: there is no place for incompetent manufacturers to hide, and the competent and confident ones are beginning to show spinoramas on their products.

I welcome comments, commentary, criticism and suggestions for improvement.

Thanks so much for posting the companion presentation! Along with the six Powerpoint slide shows that were released at the same time as the 4th Edition of the book, this material collectively underscores many of the main points made in the book as well providing additional insights-- all in a readily accessible format. Highly recommended!

Enjoy your visit to the Eternal City. We loved our time there many years ago!
