Hi people.

About to grab a douk vu 3 meter switch because I like moving needles.

Regarding hookup:

This thing has banana jack inputs only, and is designed to be an intermediate between one or two amps, and one or two sets of speakers.

My question is ( and AI gives conflicting answers);

1). Can I give signal via my DACs rca into banana input into the vu meter? (Obviously not passing signal to speakers)

2) can I run signal from my amps remote speaker out, into the vu meter, while running regular speakers via main output? ( ie using an identical signal to run the vu meter, without interfering with the signal path to the speakers?)
Would this tax my amp? I'd assume not since the meter is not really demanding any energy.

Thanks!

It seems that the device is designed to operate between amp and spk. I suppose a little insertion loss. So I don't see any reason to warn. So it need some power level, thus at signal level the needles will not move.

Remember that it needs USB power supply. And if you listen to AM or vynil, the PSU can generate some extra noise to those sensible rigs.

Thanks for the reply.

I ended up connecting the vu meter directly to the DACs xlr outputs and works perfectly. Nice to know there is no effect to signal pathway.
