Hello,

I would like to know if any of these two is better than one. My use case for this will be to stream audio from my car Head Unit or from Phone to DSP.

Douk Audio doesn't ship to my country and their AliExpress store charges $31 shipping while SMSL PO100 is $20 lower and shipped free.

Both of these interfaces use XMOS XU316 chip. If one has advantages of quality over others or anything better than these available, I would consider that.

I haven't tried the Douk Audio, but the S.M.S.L. PO100 tested very well. I have the PO100 2024, which is the most current version, and it works great. I have never had any issues with it whatsoever; it just works. Also, as can be seen by its measurements, it is audibly transparent.

Here's @VintageFlanker's measurements of two versions of the U2. I've got one and it does what it says on the tin; converts usb to spdif.

I've also got a Topping D10s which I like because it displays the sample rate:

I will say this, while playing music the smsl is fine, however in zero bit sections or when scrolling on my iPhone connected to it there is a noise, like a ground hum from the device through coax, Apparantly it is a known issue and something to do with a muting circuit or similar… I never had it with my d10s, three different smsl devices (one po100 2024 and two pros) all exhibit the same ‘ground noise’

I am about to buy a douk u2 pro to see if that cures the issue it is however a minor issue and may not occur with other phones or sources of digital usb audio
