Douk Audio K5 DAC Headphone Amplifier--Let’s discuss it together!

Hello all members,

Recently, we will release our latest dac headphone amp-K5, with USB and optical inputs, optical, stereo RCA, 6.35mm and 3.5mm headphone jack outputs. The USB supports PCM384/32bit,DSD256.
On the basis of our Q4 DAC, we collected many useful opinions and feedback from our users, upgraded some functions and modified some problems now.
Below are the outline sketches, what do you think of it? :)

Later, I will share its related specs and AP report.

Hi,
if two headphones are plugged in, is it possible to choose which headphone should be active?
Is there an internal jitter reduction mechanism?

Looks nice, very much looking forward to some measurements.

Does the RCA output mean that this will work as a (passive) preamp - is the RCA output level controlled by the volume? I realise that the digital output is not.

one more question.. I use vintage amps.. got quite the collection..

so I can't go spdif in and spdif out.. it will be spdif in and RCA out..

I understand that many DACS like this the RCA output is controlled by the volume knob? Do I assume that in the 0 position or close to it I will have 2V line level?
Hi, the RCA output is controlled by the volume knob and the treble and bass as well. The output is 0 at or near the 0 position, and the maximum output is 3.3Vrms at the maximum position.

Yeah, the RCA output level is controlled by the VOL and the treble and bass. I will send an email to Amir later and ask if he is interested in reviewing it. Thank you!

Hi, the exact answer, you mean the specs of the capacitors used? The K5 uses 22uF,10uF,1uF,0.1uF,10nF,220pF,100pF.
Thank you. It was a joke. For some reason that I cannot understand some people pays a lot of attention to the brand name on electrolytic capacitors. I found very funny your very logical answer naming the brand of the ceramic capacitors, that would be my answer to such a question too :D :D :D

Despite China's huge strides in making everything, I still think Japan rules the roost with caps. Panasonic has never made a bad series. Nippon, Nichicon, Rubycon, Elna, Panasonic.. there is a reason they have quite the reputation for longevity. There is a reason high end hi-fi and computer power supplies (with ten year warranties) use them.

I have a big collection of old amps. 20, 30, 40 years old.. I don't think it is any coincidence that the vintage hifi I have with Jap caps and other notables (Korea's Samwha, USA's Aerovox) are still going strong with caps in spec or close to it. Nor do I think it is a coinkydink that other hifi I have (NAD etc) that stopped using Jap caps in the 90's - had to have caps replaced relatively early on.

Murata.. Japanese. They don't make eletcrolytics. ...so there are no electrolytics in the K5? An interesting development. All the caps are solid polymer and ceramic.:):):):):D:D:D:D

Hi, sorry for the late reply. The two headphone outputs can work at the same time, and there is an internal jittler reduction mechanism.

Hi, the RCA output is controlled by the volume knob and the treble and bass as well. The output is 0 at or near the 0 position, and the maximum output is 3.3Vrms at the maximum position.
On the official product page the spec says:
"RCA Output
Output level: 2Vrms
"

So which is it? Is the RCA output fixed 2Vrms or adjustable up to 3.3Vrms?

Also any update if Amirm will be reviewing the K5?
