Double-Bridging 53V p-p > 106V p-p >> 212V(!!!!) p-p!!

Right now I've got 2x stereo amplifiers which support bridge mode.
And of course, they're in Bridge mode...


Say I have two identical DACs
and
Say I have a USB to S/PDIF adapter, with its SPDIF connected to both DACs using an optical splitter cable (passive)

Say I have 4x large 12V deep-cycle AGM batteries and 4x 12VDC > 120VAC power inverters
- Inverter # 1 drives Amp 1, Inverter #2 drives Amp 2, Inverter #3 drives DAC 1, Inverter #4 drives DAC 2

At this stage, the two DACs and two amps are all running and are all isolated from one another and from any grounds.

DAC 1's left output goes to Amp 1's only input (technically marked as left), and DAC 2's left output goes to Amp 2's input (ie. left)
- Amp 1's output in bridge mode is the two positive pins: Left positive is actually the positive, while right positive is the negative
- Amp 2's output is the same situation as 1: Left positive is actually positive, while right positive is negative

We now take the speaker negatives (marked right + on Amp 1 and right + on Amp 2), and connect them together

and NOW we take Amp 1's (+) [left +] and connect it to the left speaker's (+) input and we take Amp 2's (-) [left -] and connect it to left speaker's - binding post

....

Then we send some music to the adapter for conversion to SPDIF. It's converted and makes its way to the DACs, which drive the amps, which drive the speaker!


Say the speaker is 8 ohms and the amps are rated 100W into 8 ohms (bridge), 200W into 4 ohms (bridge), and 400W into 2 ohms (bridge)



Would operation like this be safe for the DACs and amps? Is there a reason this shouldn't work?

If something is wrong with this configuration, what needs to change for it to be fixed? Or is it impossible to fix? If so, why?


This isn't something I'm seriously considering doing (even if I had all the batteries and inverters, I'd still have to double them and everything else (meaning the amps and DACs, which, if I got the same ones again, I'd be out a good 8k, and that's wayyyyyy too much for a stereo system that I need to charge.... lol
