Just wondering if the level knob in this subwoofer means I can put it on the Min mark and feed it with the outputs (high level) of the preamp, or do I still need a line converter? I couldn't find any RCA based line converter, all use bare cable to insert into the speaker output, but I'm doing a High-Pass there.

Speaker outputs from an amplifier are considered high-level. If by” pre-amp outputs” you mean RCA jacks, those are line level. If that’s the case, you can connect directly from the pre-amp to the sub with no problem.
