Does Op-amp Rolling Work?

As an example that first comes to mind, there are many integrated amplifiers from Rotel in the 80s and 90s that use a NE5532(A)N in line level pre-amp or phono section driven at already high voltages of +-18V or more.

A few examples:

RA-820AX:

RA-930AX, RA-931 (MK2), RA-932:

RA-01, RA-02:

They were very popular in the past (as well as now) and at a certain moment in time their owners may find themselves in a situation where they need to repair them and that very failure may be changing the op-amp(s).
And if they already do it (or their repairmen), they better use NOS parts.
Or lower the voltage for the op-amps. Basically very easy with changing the zener diodes in a PSU to a lower value of 15 volts or less.

...or parts from the other legit suppliers who AFAIK still follow "the original recipe" -- e.g. ON and Rohm.
