Does any here know traid amps?

So I can get a ts-subamp 700 new for a really good deal. Not sure if these are quality amps to start with. Are these amps better than crown xls for home theater? One problem is have found is the rating. 700 at 3 ohms is what the manual states. Can this amp handle 2 ohms? If I need i could add cooling or lower the gains. Are traid amps over or underrated?
