do we want a area for members to post their systems and pictures of their systems so we can gather round for the compulsory circle jerk and insincere praise?
i like the fact we dont reveal our systems, this way we are all on a level with no feeling you dont belong because your systems not $250000 also your not here to garner worship for you self based on what you have bought.

any thoughts?

i deleted this as i thought was in wrong place...

this place has a nice feeling of equality about it but its going to take some mindfulness to keep it that way imo. hence my post.

i do have a issue with false praise and those who overtly seek praise through being envied but my sensitivity to this is high so a more balanced view is welcome.

OK I reversed the ability to dismiss the welcome notice. Thomas, what edits are you suggesting for it other than hoof prints in tattoo???
its ok as is, its not too 'polished' but that's nice. it sounds like something you would write if you know what i mean, this is a good thing but if we are getting tattoo's then i for one will need it to be condensed and translated into arabic so we look sophisticated!!

though being a american site this might lead to some FBI interest!!? dont want you getting renditioned amir... again:D

but something like this?

I think the forum outlook is ok as at this moment. It gives youthful and vibrant vibes, as contrast to super-serious WBF. This also has a bit of facebook flare with new posts appeared at the right panel. It encourages me to look for good pic for myself. I also like the font, more pleasing for the eyes if you are a bit dyslectic. What font is this by the way?

I don't see any TOS being declared yet and I think it is good to have one. It is up to admin to decide. I always think pm is personal message but until now you guys call it private message. Therefore, I agree pm should not be used to terrorize another person by hiding in the background. Having said that, I think for the forum to have cordial environment and long future, personal attacks must be dealt with right away. So it is not an issue whether he is objective or subjective person as I don't think there is absolutism in audiophile. We are all objective and also subjective in some way when comes to hifi. Whether admin is above TOS or not is a moot point as long as it doesn't prohibit him from doing his job effectively.

And in the end, what the king Peter B said is quite right. If you got nothing good to said about something, why keeps harping on it. It doesn't bring any good to the forum. It is like a negative crab pulling other crabs down trying to escape from a cage.

Just my humble thought.

One thing you might consider when you are looking around for things to do is to change the colour scheme somewhat. At the moment it looks very much like the Steve Hoffman board. (Only in looks of course, I very much doubt anyone will be confused for long when they see the content. :) )

I don't know if it's possible Amir; a choice of color 'skins'. ...Like classic normal/regular, retro, dark. ...@ AVSForum they have that feature for example.
That way nothing is imposed, people have free choice. :)

Just if it's possible and without any complications for you; in any shape, form or financial constraint.

1. Classic skin: the one as right now, with black lettering.
2. Retro skin: a darker shaded blue turquoise background, with white lettering.
3. Dark skin: a black background, with white lettering.

I like the bigger fonts in "Audio Science Review" now. Before they were too small for a forum that's going to have more traffic than WBF soon :)

I don't like that orange menu bar @ the top.

1. It's unattractive.
2. Can't read the grey lettering.
3. That's it. :) ...I prefer the way it was before...or another tint of blue, different than the one below.
...Perhaps this tint: ◄↕►

Everything's just fine the way it is Amir.

If I can offer a suggestion it would be this one: The white background, can it be made to be not so bright?
Like this: ►◄ for example...or: ►◄ or: ►◄ or: ►◄ or: ►◄ or: ►◄ probably not?
My eyes are sensitive to white screens after a while; sure I can adjust that here on my own end...and when I switch from one forum to another one I have all my own custom color/tint intensity preferences. But it has to be from the site's software, the adjustments provided to us. Because if I do it from my PC and laptop, the light contrast and brightness will affect all the sites that I'm viewing.
Over @ WBF there are choices for the background skin color; I now strictly use the Science Forum color skin, which is a light blue color for all and @ all times. It is much more relaxing for my eyes, than bright white.

I think the tint looks similar to this: ►◄ very close anyway.
There are more color's choices too, in the color rectangle above.
And our own profile page can be fully customized; it's cool, but not important. What's important is the main public posting area, with a choice a color "skin",
like we do in some of our Blu-ray players, and our cell phones.

That's it, everything else is perfect enough to me. Just the option to have a less brighter "skin" color than white would have big beneficial impact on my eyes tiredness.
