Do you listen to vinyl with headphones? Or do you think the higher noise floor and pops are too pronounced in headphones?

The vinyl I listen to has been digitized and modified in Audacity to minimize pops. I greatly appreciated the 'lack of pops' in my early purchases of Compact Discs.

No, I like a solid front soundstage I can only get from speakers. More complicated I suppose but speakers always sound better to me. When I am on the go I have a handful of great earbuds and portable dacs. I do find many of my buds and cans sound great on my home rig and on the go rig. I do listening mostly at home and just lean toward my speakers whenever possible.

Why would today be any different from many years ago? We all listened to LPs with headphones. I always did back then - Koss Pro-4A in college and later and then some Stax and others. If you listen to LPs now and want to use headphones, what's the deal?

Yes I do on my secondary system as the room acoustics aren't great in the room that system is in, as a result speakers are a bit lacklustre in there. I usually use system 2 with headphones when my wife doesn't also want to listen to my music choices.

Pro-Ject Debut Revolve with 2M Blue, NAD C350 amp, Beyerdynamic DT 770 or DT 990 Pro headphones. Works very well, but yes any defects/surface noise are more noticeable with headphones compared to speakers. It will depend how good your records are really, but even new ones can have the occasional crackle that you wouldn't otherwise notice on speakers.
