Isn't the word 'hate' a demeaning impression of what 'music' provides for the soul?
I am going to pretend you meant 'mute' and give you a Like.

I would like to know how you get "demeaning" from to strongly dislike someone or something.

I would like to know if you would agree with me if I told you that there seems to be too much 'hate' in this country, about every thing and every body.
Actually while I am writing this, there is a helicopter hovering because there is a '8647' rally going-on , ten blocks away and the mute button is not optional.

Perhaps he meant many countries or all countries. There does seem to be more than enough hating to go around.

Both my wife & I spend months in several different countries on an annual basis (and usually not in the same countries as each other.Maybe that is why we have managed to be married for going on 20 years.

Any one country definitely does not have a monopoly on hatred.

Having said that it is clear (to me) that a strong rule of law, rigorously enforced, is essential to avoid an oligarchy, with a tiny number of people owning almost everything and everybody else "grovelling in the dirt" like in the Dark Ages and a disappointingly large number of countries even now.

Some music is definitely made to be hated. But I wouldn't mix it up or confuse it with hate between people, which in my opinion has a completely different quality.
I mean the kind of hate that comes from a scratchy wool sweater or stepping in dog poop with new shoes.

GINI index seems like using an abacus in the 21st century.
In one of the graphs of your link, it shows that -in 2020s- USA and China have the SAME GINI index of 45.

We met 55 years ago when I was an engineering student at Imperial College and she was a music student at the Royal College of music which are next to each other in South Kensington in London also next to the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens.
We had our 50th wedding anniversary last year.

I was 48 years old (obviously getting married was something that surprised me, as it had not been a priority to me prior to it happening) when I married for my only time. And we have a pre-nup. This summer will be our 20th anniversary.
