The "slow" filters usually have earlier high frequency roll off within the audible band, and can therefore be audibly different from the "fast" filters, which are usually flat to 20 kHz.….but nonetheless: most of these filters did not do any difference for me but the slow versions did....
Better filters would be be nice, though just from a technical standpoint.
No I have switched to Topping. Chord balls are annoying and Chord are overly expensive and don't measure as well in other areas.Sounds like you should stick with Chord then. They are the undisputed king of overkill reconstuction filters.
Did you use any basic controls?but after now 10h of intense listening
Ahhh, one of the classics. Well done, sir, well done!then i tried to check my wife who is not interested in any of that stuff or music at all.
Since you had to blackmail her I imagine she agreed with the one sucks the other is great to get you to shut up as she's probably been listening to you complain till she's ready to toss a pie at you.she said basically the same stuff after listening to some examples (i had to blackmail her to do iti did not inform her on my oppinion. she basically went along the line that one condition was more stressful to her ears whilst the other being more relaxed.
You're the one with an agenda. Why else come to a science oriented forum babbling nonsense about hearing stuff without even attempting basic controls. Go troll somewhere else.bro. i do not know your agenda. but you obviously adhere to it. so you may.
exactly.Why else
Correct , adiosexactly.
Should I even bother asking about what controls you used to determine the audible differences?I can hear a difference with DAC filters. I was using linear phase, fast roll off but then my systems changed and I wanted something less 'bright' and 'fatiguing'. I like linear phase slow roll-off with my Vandersteen speakers and linear phase apodizing fast roll-off with my Elac's in near field.
Ha ha , im stealing this one .Res ipsa loquitur.
Always go with the classics.i tried to check my wife who is not interested in any of that stuff or music at all.
In a lot of not-great designs, that sort of filter rolls off the treble slightly. If you actually hear anything, it's a frequency response issue, and you can get the same effect from turning the treble down a notch,.i came to the conclusion that the one filter that made a real difference for me was mini slow
