DIY spinorama turntables

Has anyone built jigs for vertical measurements of tower speakers? I have some ideas but curious about other people's approach.
The approach I plan on taking is to put the speaker on its side on the rotating platform. I haven't tried it yet, so we'll see how it works out.

As in rotated ground plane measurements? I've thought about this but since you also need to angle the cabinet towards the mic also means you'd need to adjust that particular tilt for every individual angle.
 
No. My plan is to put the rotating platform on top of my 19 ft. ladder, and to put a sound reflector/absorber on the ground between the ladder and the microphone. But, I am open to other ideas.

Yes the but the issue is that with a tower speaker, there is a quite a bit of speaker sticking out, that needs to be supported, and my question relates to how other people approach this using outriggers/..

Using outriggers, I think it would be difficult to get good measurements. For a large speaker, I would connect the microphone to a vertically oriented linear rail and control the height of the micropone with a stepper motor. The distance between the microphone and drivers would not be constant, but that probably could be dealt with by performing calculations on the initial measurement set. I suspect that is how Klippel handles it, but I don't know enough about the Klippel to know for sure.
 
Here is my take on the topic, simple and cheap.

components used:
- base of swivel chair, e.g. link
- terrace mast, e.g. link
- parallel mast mounting clamps, e.g. link
- plywood scraps for the tabletop

The mast should be sufficiently distanced from the chair's axis (using washers/sleeves) so that the rotation axis is 5-10 mm in front of the edge of the tabletop. Since the axis of rotation should be aligned with the front baffle surface, the edge of the tabletop will be hidden under the lower edge of the cabinet during the measurements.

The printed scale (link) lies on a stiff cardboard pad and it has a foam disc on top. The scale can be rotated with slight resistance relative to the base, which makes it easy to reset the pointer indication for the base setting. The pointer is made of two zips.

This is sufficient for a bookshelf, for a floorstander a support for V measurements would be needed.

My designs are rather small bookshelf speakers and the table works quite ok for that purpose. I don't think I've ever exceeded 10 kg.
