Hi guys
I want to build seas 3 way classic

I want your advice on the "best budget crossover" parts, not cheapo parts, but good clear sound parts, the parts info is in the link.
Is there better 3 way build under 1000$ ?
I was looking in the forum and got some ideas but i'm asking again here
Thanks

Objectively speaking the biggest performance gains in a crossover come from using air core inductors. Ferromagnetic cores introduce hysteresis distortion. Because there is a time domain shift involved it is less likely to experience psychoacoustic masking than harmonic distortion.

The differences in capacitors and resistors are far more subtle. The coincidental/unwanted inductance or capacitance is so small that it only matters at frequencies outside the audible range.

In a perfect world you would switch to an active/DSP based crossover. This results in the lowest overall distortion and loss of amplifier power, and creates some new possibilities such as perfectly time aligning the voice coils of each driver or suppressing cone breakup without impacting the filter slope of another driver.

Very well said!!!

That has been my experience.

Thank you guys
I'm trying the see if there are a better way
Then what a crossover service is ofering, so i can build the crossover myself :)

Hi
I am in the process of building the Discovery 861 - I choose the best kit, with Alumen and Silver for tweeter and midrange. I don't know if I will head a difference, but I would go around soon and wonder if it could be a little bit better if I had level 2 :)

Best Xover - well, Troels himself, in general, distinguishes between tweeter and midrange capacitors. The rest of the Xover is the same.

Why not build the Mark II ? Just pick level 2, and make a little door in the back, so you can open the cross-over.

There is also a Facebook group for Troels Gravesen builders ;)

In Israel, can you get Morel drivers cheaper? Do they have kits available?

Or, is this available were you are?

This plus a sub is also in your target price range.

Thanks again :)

THe kit i put on is open plan so it's better if it's open bulid.
Morel is not cheaper in israel, the market here is tiny.

The hivi kit is an option from amazon.com not in isrsel itself.
