I was huge back in the 80s with vehicle speakers but been away awhile. Recently bought a semi truck volvo vnl860 and designed a custom shelf in it.
Currently run a kicker box system KICKER 48TRTP122 12" Thin Down-Firing Subwoofer w/Passive Radiator Enclosure, 2-Ohm. Can find it on Amazon eazy enough. While it's great and works beautifully it's causing minor storage issues. So my thought was to build a custom box:
36lx19w and have a choice of 6" deep or 8" deep. I also can run a second kicker speaker (I have 2 of the same speakers as I thought I had an issue with one but turns out it was the passive radiator).
So I guess my question is how would it sound with 2 12" kicker subs running 600w total in a box 36x19x6 or 8. Would it be worse? Better? It would definitely solve a lot of issues I'm currently having with the storage lol.
For reference the current box it came in is single 12" 27x14x6.
Building this box would enable me to get back a LOT of space I currently lost with the kicker box I have now as the top of the box would become flooring for storage. I would add grills to protect the speakers.
Other idea I had was to just keep the current box and just build up my side panels bigger which I MIGHT just go with instead as the current box does make a good floor lol
