Display Issue with Denon CD Player ( DCD-600NE)

Issue with display on Denon CD player (DCD-600NE) When I switch tracks the display changes to the new track but in like less than 2 seconds it goes black. Track # and time elapsed go away. Tried a different CD and it acted the same. Shut off player and pulled plug for a few minutes then restarted. Same problem. When I put a CD in it correctly shows total # of tracks and total time and stays illuminated. I’m thinking it must be some type of controller issue that tells display when to illuminate or not. Its not a show stopper as player works fine but its nice to have the track # and time. Thoughts? I know repairs would be cost prohibitive and I don’t think its under warranty any more

According to the player's owner manual (page 24 and 37), the display is switched off during playback in both "Pure Direct Mode" #1 and #2.

Can you check that neither mode is activated and, if it is, turn Pure Direct Mode off and give it a try?
