Disappointed with Shanling CD80

I contacted Shanling. They confirmed that the issue existe on optical SPDIF output, player also has in built DAC and RCA analogue outputs on these outputs the issue didn't appears. Concerning the gapless playback Shanling confirms HW limitation.
I have since gotten a Cambridge Audio CXC, a pure CD transport, and can only recommend it.
Fast, quiet, well thought out, it also reads difficult CDRs and very scratched CDs.
Runs on an ancient Dacmagic (full-size case with 2 x TDA1305), on a Gustard A18 and on the SMSL D400 EX without any problems.

I wrote to Shanling the guy from the support answered me extremely fast, however his answer wasn't positive. He said that they know about the issue with optical SPDIF but their SW development team don't have answer when it will be solved.
Same experience here. Their Tidal API crashes the my M5 Ultra (a great DPA otherwise which I really wanted to keep) and shows only a few of the personal playlists: when reported to them by social media, no answer. When reported on HeadFi same answer you got, very dismissive. We are aware of the problem, we do not have a fix and we do not know if it will ever be available.

Very disappointed by this company. iBasso and Fiio are in a different league.
