I requested STX for specific T/S parameters based on Hornresp simulation and got long throw 6,5" woofers in 2 weeks.

Where can I find building plans for the enclosure of this open source peoject? Can I give that to an average woodworker so that he knows enough to build it?

thank you. it can bang thats for sure. if you follow my sim tutorial videos you can see their potential and ease to design around really well.
I’m not a DIY person. I was interested with your complete subwoofer unit, which you state use higher spec drivers.

Hello All,
I put a 8 Inch 8R Purifi driver into a sealed Denovo 1 cubic foot knock down sub-woofer enclosure. I replaced the front baffle with a piece of 3/4 inch plywood with an opening cut to fit the Purifi 8 Inch driver. Think Bass ModuleI.

If the goal is QTS gets 0.71 the box is a little too large.

The purpose was to grab some some real measurements in a real enclosure.

See the attached AP Impedance, Phase and TS/P ish measurements.

Thanks DT

Hello All,

Same driver and enclosure at 2.83 Volts input.
I am not too thrilled with the bass output.

See attached nearfield FR an distortion performance plot.

Rub and Buzz is nice not as problematic as the 6 inch version near 380-400 Hz

See Two-Tone IMD plots later.

Thanks DT

Did not tell this before. The Rub & Buzz sweep is pretty sensitive, it will indicate small vibrations and such.

If you recall the review of the purify speaker with the "distortion peak" 380 Hz, there is good chance of a enclosure or driver attachment vibration that caused it.

Attached below are two R&B plots: one with a 1mh choke sitting on top of the enclosure and the other plot without the choke coil sitting on top. Just a example of a enclosure vibration showing up on the test plot.

A Rub & Buzz plot is a recommended addition to speaker reviews.

Thanks DT
