Dirac Live standalone for PC and Mac

Here's some good news :)

Dirac has added Dirac Live Active Room Treatment to Dirac Live Processor, the PC and Mac software previously known as Dirac Live Room Correction Suite. The software applies room correction before audio reaches the sound system and can be used in computer-based playback setups, including compatible DAWs and media players through VST, VST3, AAX, and AU plug-in formats.

With this update, Dirac Live Processor supports Dirac Live Room Correction, Dirac Live Bass Control, and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment in a single software platform. Active Room Treatment builds on room correction by using the speaker system to help manage room resonances and sound decay, with the aim of improving clarity, control, and overall listening consistency.

(No Bass Control license is required for ART if no subwoofers are used)

Dirac Live Active Room Treatment is available in Dirac Live Processor from June 30, 2026. Existing Dirac Live Room Correction Suite users will be transitioned to Dirac Live Processor with their current licenses and settings. Licenses are available from Dirac with an optional 14-day free trial.

Existing users of Dirac Live Room Correction Suite will automatically be transitioned to Dirac Live Processor together with their current licenses and settings. Licenses can be purchased with an optional 14-day free trial at www.dirac.com.

Does it support multichannel DSP crossover ? Multichannel DACs? If not, when can we expect DSP crossover support?

Not sure if Flak is here regularly, so I'll try an answer, every multichannel USB-DAC can be used, if it is supported on a PC or Mac.
What do you mean with DSP crossover support, implementing crossovers in an active speaker design for example?
 
I have it in a dsp setup - that is multichannel Soundcard/interface using digital optical out 1/2 for Speaker L and R to a minidsp Flex 8. The analog Soundcard outputs 3, 4,..... Go to Amps and active Subwoofers (could also be used for surround channel though)

Yes DSP crossover with active speaker design is my question, @Flak .

I already know there is DSP crossover with multi subwoofers supported.
 
You need a multichannel dac and any software with channel routing. Jriver recomended

I've been doing this for years, I have the gear. I use Audiolense XO for years.... I don't need J-Shiver

I am here asking about Dirac, can it do DSP XO and room correction (for active speakers), all in one.... like Audiolense, Acourate etc...
 
Simple answer. No. Only room and speaker correction with bass control andcart add ons. Maybe they come up with another xover add on some day. But you can add xovers for active designs in any software including jriver

It does run on multichannel DACs just fine but you need to start with something decent when you're doing your own active XO. With ART it doesn't seem to let you set a XO between mains and subs like Bass Control but the subs do need integration beforehand for best results.

What does this mean, start with something decent?

You mean do the active XO external to Dirac?

Run Dirac as a VST on Reaper and do crossover using Reaper

I woulnd't wait for that to happen, that just not the market Dirac is going for. Especially with ART now, it's a "you set your parameters, and we do the magic for you" software.

It means you can't just throw some speakers in a box and expect Dirac to come up with something listenable. But you already knew that if you use Audiolense.
 
I had DIRAC DLBC which did not work for me with 4 subs. I gave up and went with a homemade REW correction and PC based crossovers with 2 mains (KH310's) and 2 very large co-located subs. I was happy with the sound but since I already invested in DLBC was curious about what ART could do and got the demo and ran it. Compared to last time I used DIRAC there are definite improvements in the interface and the measurements ran without errors or drama. I am posting my results below as I have not seen a lot of 2.2 systems run with "stock" ART setting. I don't think this is the very best use of ART and since I have 4 other subs I will try adding at least 2 more some day. In the meantime my impression or ART is positive but not overwhelmingly so. The main thing I notice is that ART high passes everything at 20 Hz (My subs are flat to 15 Hz) which is probably not a bad thing in my room as it can't really handle 20 Hz or below. I was a little disappointed that the "decay" did not change much beyond what I would have expected with the 20 Hz high pass, I guess you need more subs for that effect. In general the bass sounds smooth and tight and a little lighter and clearer which cleans up the mid-range as well. I do feel like I lost some tactile feel at high volumes.

Can you elaborate on this?
Your subs should have halfway decent integration with your mains before you run ART for best results.

I have a similar experience as @levimax. I never had decent results with DLBC but tried the trial and these are the results I have with ART vs my REW+rePhase filters for my 2.2 system. DiracLive kept having reported network connections interfering with license recognition for the service but it worked on my laptop with an older OS and Diraclive 3.13.16 instead of the current 3.14.3 so I'm not sure if the newer version is more capable.

Same HP at 20hz, actually a bit higher. Like Levimax, my subs obviously go deeper but I don't really need any subsonic content and bass sounds objectively good. I'm not sure what to make out of the impulse response

Forgot to mention it but when using 3.14.3 I also got "network error warnings" when creating the filters, not during measurements like the infamous "!" issue, but it created the filters anyway. Hopefully DIRAC will put this bug on their list.
 
They have a help ticket going for the issue. When I reported it on the website it refused to accept any of the log or crash files they so helpfully asked for.

Question, did you try to use the "infra bypass" feature to avoid the high pass filter at 20 Hz?
I tried to activate it, but didn't find the checkbox for it.
