Dirac ART is now running on beta FW for Denon Xx800H AVRs!

Just saw the livestream on room treatments from Phil J. and in it he says dirac art will come in a couple of months. So I'm not counting on sep, maybe not even October?
Thanks for sharing

They're messing with our heads. Luckily I have a load of other activities and work to keep me busy for the next few months...

Kinda, sorta happy? More time to decide on the fourth subwoofer. I shoud have known when I got the 3800 how it would end up. I had a single sub before... :D

Ok, so from a single subwoofer you went to 2 sw? And that was a big step up? In what way? And you wanted more so 3?

After coming home after work I watched part of the video and Phil said "next few months". From 35:00

How can you interpret this vs couple of months?

If art works as it should work even beefy surround and main can be important , i cross the sub at 80-100hz for main I got kef blade 2 and 2 Kali in 8 for surround , the Kali should be the weaker link

I don't think there is precise definition as both are relatively loose terms. I would expect it by YE though.

Did Phil or anyone hint to a possibility of rolling out gradually across the line-up? Not exactly the most fair method, but could help with them being able to handle a larger number of support requests that might / could be reasonably expected to come.

No he said all models with 4 subwoofer outputs will get ART so it will be a simultaneous release.

Cedia 2025 seems an obvious occasion and venue for a launch of this kind, next big event is CES in January, which I think is too late...

My money is on CEDIA which is September 3-6 .... so not far away.

but we are all guessing!

I went to 2 when DLBC became available, then I went to 3. In both cases bass response was better than before (measured in REW).
Hahaha, nice that you bought the 4rth one!

Ok, response in REW better, but did the bass in the MPL also improve? Or is the added value more in other seats?

I have a good response in the MLP and always sit there. My wife and little on the side but she doesn't even know what a subwoofer is. So would adding say a second 13.8 inch arendal 1s sub really yield some noticeable improvements in de MPL for me?

All sound quality impressions (and measurements) taken at MLP. I have a three seats set-up but, at the end of the day, I have decided to completely disregard whatever happens at my sides. I'm the only one who cares and those two seats are anyway used quite rarely.

For me the improvements were perceptible and measurable but, as usual, your mileage may vary. And, in this case, it really could, as there are so many variables involved.

Cool, thanks. I'm first going to try ART and see if I'm happy with that

Very happy with two RSL 10E to support my F12. Ruler flat bass using DLBC and good in room response for the higher end of ART support frequencies with crossover disabled. Eager to try with ART and post measurements with waterfall.

When I added 4th subwoofer to my Marantz AV-10, disaster followed: very weak and very uneven bass after calibration with DLBC. I tried several times, read that some people experienced the same, gave up, removed one subwoofer and things got back to normal. I hope the ART update will fix it.

Holy hell! Talk about making me afraid!

In any case I will not add the sub before having ART at my disposal. The sub should get here beginning in October, in case ART is not available I will position it in the only place in the room I have available and then wait for ART before connecting and measuring.

What do you think happened? A computational anomaly in DLBC during calculation of the filters? Limited processing power of the AVR during application of the filters? How were the four subs placed inside the room? Where they all the same model? Do the delay and level figures computed by DLBC make sense?

Hi. I am not sure what happened, but reportedly it is a known issue with 4 subwoofers on av-10. There are two Monolith M-15 V2s at both ends of a long room (36' long, 16' wide), and the third (SVC PC-2000 Pro) one on a side, in a place that I measured to produce strong signal. I added another SVC PC-2000 Pro on the other side, with place chosen primarily by look and other functionality. So, 2 of each type.

These are REW measurements, the yellow is 3 sub setup with DL default (only a bit boosting base) and blue, 4 sub setup with boosted base by choosing Harman 6db curve. I did not check the delays.
Yes, I think something wrong with DLBC calculations, because when I limited myself to base Dirac, it was looking a bit better.
Finally, the whole thing seems to have reset, and Dirac Live could not load the old measurements, telling me that the hardware configuration changed. So, something was really wrong.
