Dirac ART is now running on beta FW for Denon Xx800H AVRs!

Transfer between which device? Or do you talk between you and the buyer?
Purchased ART for the Storm ISP, sold Storm to another user, contacted Dirac and they transferred ART to other users Dirac account for that unit.

Okay, so this is a name change for the license for the same device. So, the same as the others.

The licenses not being transferable is pure greed. It is a lot of money already for one license.
You have to think of this as some sort of strange Software as a Service business model. As such, we're expected to pay for as long as we use the technology.
It's strange because you pay every once in a while (when you switch receiver) and not on a regular basis.

This should be seen as an option. Like a performance pack on a car that adds an exhaust and big brakes. It fits the vehicle, but it's difficult to remove and install on another model.
So these models will also sell for more, just like an amplifier equipped with Dirac.

This analogy is incorrect, because the "performance pack" works equally well for all models. After all, it would be easy to remove the license from one model and assign it to another. But they don't want that because it would result in fewer new licenses being sold. I transferred a Dirac license 10 years ago, and the process seems to be intentionally designed to be just as cumbersome as it was back then.

Performance brakes and an exhaust from a VW Golf won't fit a Polo or a BMW. But you get the idea, you have to think of it as an option linked to a serial number.

Upcoming livestreams:

Upcoming or previously announced technologies as they become available on the market. ART immediately comes to mind...

Just saw a new Facebook post from Dirac:

ART IS COMING TO DENON & MARANTZ

No need for new measurements with ART-but if you start fresh, keep the mic steady and unobstructed.

ART requires a firmware update. You'll get a notification when it's available.

License will be available for purchase at Dirac.com.

Marantz/Denon also have a video about it from a month or more ago.
Yes but the tone of that message was more like "(really) later this year" while this screams VERY soon.

All the teasing caused me to proceed faster though. I just ran extra subwoofer cables to the back of my room to offer deep & powerful extension to left and right surround speakers. For now I'm going to use 2x Crown XLS1002 with 150Hz crossover between the passive subs and surrounds. If this works I might upgrade to Hypex FA502.

Makes me think why D&M can't repurpose unused channels for support speakers. My living room doesn't allow placement of wide speakers so why not use the free channels to connect support woofers?

They *really* are trying their best to make me fall ill to buy-itis for a fourth subwoofer...

Can someone let us know when it's actually getting rolled out please?
D&M will let us know for sure. They have extensive line up and hopefully will test with all models as opposed to customers having to beta test for them. That takes time.

I am not in such a hurry and won't jump on it until it is proven to work without bugs. Not sure if D&M are interested in more beta testers - perhaps does not hurt to ask their customer service if one really wants to try it now.

They've been doing beta testing for over a year now.
