I have an Aura and it works perfectly. Its SW interface is very easy to use and differentiating.

Yes, it's quite good. We got one as a gift and I'm thinking about getting another.

What exactly are you thinking of buying?

A bigger Aura. The one we got as a gift is a good size for a desk but a bit small to look at across a room.

B&H has a bunch of frames that seem pretty good and cost much less than Aura but you need to futz with USB to get images on them. So after initial set up it's just naga happen. Like the USB stick in my 2012 Mazda hasn't changed since then.

I went down the digital picture frame rabbit hole earlier this year after purchasing (and being impressed by) the Aura frame. I thought I might like a larger frame to show my landscape photographs. Using the information from this web page, I configured a Raspberry PI4 to drive a color-accurate NEC 32" monitor. It looked great and even had some nifty transition features unavailable on the Aura. I configured it to display images directly from a network folder on my NAS. Images looked great and if I were willing to build the monitor into a proper frame and wire it into a suitable wall it would be better at portraying art images than any Aura.

But, it lacks the simplicity and ease-of-use of Aura - no phone app - so only I would curate images on the device. My spouse would never bother. So, this project has not progressed past the initial proof-of-concept.
