Did anyone realise they had hearing loss after an imbalance in their system?

So I recently have been having a lot of problems with my left ear, ear fullness, tinnitus and what sounds like a constant 40-50hz tone being played in my left ear constantly that feels like it's vibrating the ear drum unless I talk, it disappears and comes right back. If I cover my good ear then voices sound like a tin can, very strange.

The one thing that stood out to me was how my dual subs didn't seem like they were centered anymore and heavily right side biased. Recalibrated but it was still the same, played a test tone in rew from 100hz down to 20hz - right ear was fine, the left ear however I could hear bass down to 45hz then it dropped of a cliff and at 40hz down it was nothing.

Has anyone ever had anything similar happen and what did you do if you had dual subs? I feel like if the ent shows nothing I might have to sell up and maybe buy a single more powerful sub (which I already had before selling it and moving to 2 smaller subs) and place it directly under the tv instead.

I went to the doctor and my ears are clean with no infection so it's to the ent in a month from now, given hearing tests don't go that low I'm curious if other have experienced such low frequency loss as I'm only 40 and don't have exposure to loud noises or environments.

I've had similar issues, also in my left ear, caused by a COVID infection a couple of years ago. I have an unrelated condition for which I take steroids from time to time and discovered that the steroids help the hearing - indicating it is probably an inflammation issue. Unfortunately it's a fairly high dose that helps and you can't take it for long.

Yes. It's annoying! It's never normal, but the tinnitus level/frequency changes plus the amount of treble I can hear fluctuates and sometimes is even distorted.
