Desktop speakers for DJing/production loud enough to fill 20'x8' room

Looking for something to replace my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. What I like about these speakers is that they get loud, and the bass exists. That's about it...

Mostly I listen to and DJ techno, dnb, and hardstyle. I like to layer this with ambient, experimental electronic, prog, and world music. So these speakers are mostly used for discovery, critical listening, and practicing my sets. I am thinking of getting into some production later as well.

The speakers will be placed on a desk with roughly a foot of space behind them (one will be in front of the wall and one in front of the window). I want them to get loud enough to fill the room like if I'm eating at the dining table I can still listen well.

I'm thinking the iLoud MTM + SVS 3000 Micro sub? I can put the sub under my desk in the corner. Thanks for any tips! My budget is $1000 USD preferably but can stretch, happy to buy used/refurb.

Here's the floorplan.

I don't particularly fancy the idea of listening to a nearfield setup from the other end of the room - if mine is any indication, it will work, but you get near-mono sound of so-so definition and uneven, boomy bass. Meh. I'd rather have a second set with Bluetooth connectivity, which has proven more handy than I expected ever since I got my Edifier MR3s for the kitchen.

I wouldn't knock the ProMedia system until I've seen some measurements in situ and tried misc. subwoofer placement options... virtually nobody seems to have anything bad to say about them sound-wise, within the limits of a desktop 2.1 system obviously. Should be a good introduction to measurements, REW and the moving microphone method (MMM).

Do you need something as narrow as the iLouds with built-in calibration? The 3-3.5" class generally is not the pinnacle of price / performance.

Are you sure you'll be able to interface both main speakers and sub to what I presume is your PC at the same time and integrate them without issue? I'm not necessarily seeing that happen yet, what with potential ground loop issues and processing delay.

Very popular dj monitors (altough not measuring that good) are the KRK Rokit series (the yellow cones). If you want better measuring the Adam T8V is also more and more popular these days but even that one is not fully neutral. those often cost a lot more than your budget.
