Hello there,

I need your help.
I just bought a set of HifiMan Arya Stealth, which I'm looking forward to receiving :)

My current amp/dac is a Qudelix 5K.
I'm happy with it, but it doesn't last very long, battery wise. It is often annoying that Qudelix goes out when I am in the middle of a movie, music, concert etc.

My setup is used both for music from the phone. And film/concert from TV.

Therefore, I need your input for choosing a desktop set that can also handle Bluetooth from the TV. Bluetooth is used when I watch movies and concerts on the TV.
The desktop setup must be suitable for HifiMan Arya, Hifiman Sundara and Sennheiser HD600.

I am considering:
  • FiiO K7 BT
  • Topping DX3 Pro+
  • Topping DX5
  • Topping MX5
If you know any better setups for me, please let me know.

Looking forward to hearing from you :)

Hi Guys,

I am going to buy a new AMP/DAC for my home setup:
  • HifiMan Sundara
  • Hifiman Ayra Stealth
  • Sennheiser HD600
The setup must include bluetooth.
  • Topping DX5 (new) 449,00 EUR
  • Topping DX7 pro (B-stock) 549,00
Which one to pick and why?

Looking forward hearing from you :)

The DX7 Pro has high output impedance and changes the sound of low impedance headphones and IEMs..The DX5 has plenty of power and Drop.com has a GREAT price on them if they ship to your area.

To be honest, no, I have not.
Is it better since you are mentioning EX5?

Similar, though a bit older.

DX5 Review

EX5 Review

DAC:

THD+N EX5 117.5, DX5 122
SNR EX5 12.5 DX5 124

HP Amp:

SNR both c.90.

I think all measurements on both units read as transparent.

The reason I mentioned is that the EX5 is usually much cheaper at Amazon UK, though it appears the other way around at Amazon Spain.

Drop has a great sale on the DX5. I've had a few of them and they sound great with enough power for your stuff. The Arya Stealth will impress you. It's my favorite planar magnetic by far.

I have just talked to a friend regarding the amp/dac for my Hifimans.
He means that Topping and SMSL is too neutrale for the Hifimans.

He is recommending IFi Audio for Hifiman.
He is also recommending a tube amp/dac.
But it is diffucult to find tube amp/dac with bluetooth.

iFi Audio and tube because it has a warmer signature.

Please let me know your experiences.

Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a couple of Hifiman Arya Stealth.
I am really looking forward to receive them next week :)

I need a great match (amp/dac) for these great headphone.

Please let me know your recommendations.

On what basis?

Why, don't you want transparency to the source? Use EQ or tone controls.

JSmith
Tube amps are adding warm to the sound signature.

Topping and SMSL is too neutrale for the Hifimans.
That is what he says.

What is your recommendations for the HifiMan Arya Stealth?

Thank you.

Why you have four separate threads all asking for advice on a new desktop system?

What is this supposed to achieve?

PM!!

You asked me to say something nice in your thread or say nothing at all.

Not spamming threads is part of good manners when participating in online forums.

We now have incoherent discourse scattered across multiple threads. This helps no one.

Hi Ole
I assume you’re Danish as you have the same name as my father:)
Anyhoo you are not going to hear differences between dacs and amps providing you can’t see what’s playing. Evenmore a planar headphone with flat impedance will completely override whatever impedance mismatch you could encounter with a dynamic driver headphone.
I too have been at a place where I stressed out about getting the best gear for my headphones. Blindtests fully cured me. If you are unable to try this for yourself, I recommend reading further here at ASR or indeed the Sound Science part of Head-Fi.

Fair.

What would you personale recommendation to the Arya Stealth?

Thank you.

@Ole_S

Please focus your future posts either to existing threads about products you have an interest in or, if no such thread exists, create ONE new one that members can engage in. Multiple threads started by you daily by you covering the same ground aren't helpful to you or the membership. Thanks.

It is enough that one person tells me this :-S
StaticV3 has just said the same.

Please let me know why you saying the same?
