Hello! I posted in the DAC subforum but I get the feeling it wasn't the right place given that's been ignored, plus there's still a lot of information I'm learning so I figured it was worth trying here instead.
Anyways, I've been reading through some things on this forum recently after I started looking for a DAC+Amp combo unit to handle my desktop speaker setup (2.1) and maybe a future headphone purchase done the road. My initial research pointed me in the direction of the SMSL AD18 as it had all the features I was looking for at a reasonable price, but then I read into the review of it done by amirm and it didn't perform very well. Neither did the Topping MX3.
I was wondering if someone might have a better recommendation for a device(s) with the same features. I don't mind cost as long as there's something that's a good fit, but preference would be towards a combo DAC/Amp combo unit that does both stereo speaker and headphone amplification. If there isn't such a thing, there was a well performing DAC at a lowish price (Khadas Tone Board) but I'm not sure what amp would be a good fit to hook it up to stereo speakers with a sub. Any recommendations or information would be appreciated, thanks for your time!
