Sometimes questions about phono preamps come up. These are some technical resources.

Walter Jung is a famous engineer active in the AES. He published many circuit design "cookbooks" for audio. In a classic application note from Analog Devices covering many topics, pages 8-18 to 8-30 discuss phono preamps:

Burkhard Vogel wrote an entire book - The Sound of Silence Lowest-Noise RIAA Phono-Amps: Designer’s Guide. I would not use his very complicated Module 1-3 design, but there is good theory in the rest of the book.

There are many AES papers out there if you have access.
