Has anyone tried woofill or metalfill PLA? My printer is old now and the resolution is awful, so I was thinking of having one of the services do it, even in PLA, but the costs look a little silly. Any recommendations?

Is there any temp issue with the tone board? I had read that the Khadas VIM2 runs pretty hot...? If so, some ventilation in the case might be warranted?

It is somewhat warm. But even PLA won't be any problem.

Hello,

First would like to thank everyone for their comments and providing the
*.stl files so we all can print a case.

Also have the same concern about possible temp issues, that Vnowinski
has. Heat building up in the case. In terms of reducing the lifespan or
damaging the Tone Board over time.

JohsonChou, take it that you mean that PLA would be ok with any heat
produced by the Tone Board. Or that both the PLA and Tone Board would be
ok with any heat buildup?

If possible can we create a design with some holes. Would prefer the
holes to placed on the side of the case. Something like this:

Or this:

Thank You

It is just warm to touch, even after hours. There is no thermal concerns. Regular PLA can't really go beyond 70 degree celsius or 45 degree celsius with load. So if PLA is okay, electronics are sure to be fine.

Alright, good to know; just wanted to make sure. I do plan to keep the
Tone Board on 24/7 though, still ok with this usage?

Thank You

Yeah, it doesn't seems to get any warmer than warm to touch no matter how long it runs.

If you want 100% peace of mind, you can get one of those chip heat sink and stick it on the chips on the board, those would be way more effective than any holes on the case.

Had not thought of that, good idea. Need to find out which chip or chips
would benefit from a heat sink and their sizes, to buy the correct size
heat sink.

@drewfIr I have been running my Tone Board non-stop, 24/7, now for more than three weeks, two of which inside a copper tomb (aka case)... it also is only warm to the touch as @JohsonChou stated. I don't think you need have any concerns. Click on "Steampunk" DAC HeadAMP in my signature to see my case.

Alright, seems like heat is not an issue then. @JohsonChou said pretty
much the same thing. Thank You for sharing your experience. And nice job
on the Steampunk DAC HeadAMP:
