Hello,
I am currently working on fine-tuning my 4-way audio system:
I am equipped with REW, a Scarlett 2i2 interface, and an ECM8000 microphone (calibration files loaded and configuration set up).
Mic 90° , distance : 1.2 m
For several days, I’ve been focusing on adjusting the delay between the different drivers.I’d like some advice to check if my method is sound and to get help optimizing this setting.
Measurement Setup:
I get a warning message, but for better source consistency, I use output 1 for both the loopback signal and the measurement signal. No issues with levels or anything else either.
I’ve watched quite a few tutorials on YouTube, but I haven’t found all the clear information I need. So, I’ve been experimenting and making deductions. Here’s what REW measured in the Overlay/Impulse tab (raw measurements):
I’m not really sure if I’m picking the right reference points on the curves or if these are even the correct curves to use. I’ve played with the windows, but it doesn’t change much.
I’ve deduced these timings:
This is the result:
I’m not sure if I’m using the right “peaks.” I even inverted the signal for the 2123, but I think the result isn’t correct (green curve). It goes downward, which would suggest the signal is inverted, but in that case, the peak should be downward too.
In short, I need help to understand what I’m doing.
I am currently working on fine-tuning my 4-way audio system:
- 20 - 100 Hz: JBL 2245H (bass reflex) LR 24dB
- 100 - 250 Hz: JBL 2226H (sealed) LR 24dB
- 250 - 2.5 kHz: JBL 2123H (sealed) LR 24dB
- 2.5 - 20 kHz: TPL 150 (version 1) (AMT) LR 24dB
