DEQX Premate 8 digital active crossover / DSP

The "very good" correction was far better than any of my many earlier efforts with the PDC 2.6 which I iterated again and again aiming to get the "best" results.

Alan has a huge amount of experience so it is hard to better his efforts. However I know from working with him over the years even he sometimes gets better results (from subjective listening) that we cannot explain or generalise.
 
Hello dear people
Sinds I have loading the latest software for my pre-8 I having problems with TIDAL Connect app.
The app sees the DEQX but the music stops playing when Connect
I tried everything reinstalling the app and so on !
Are there more people who experience such problems ?

Thanxs but I can't burden Alan with everything.
But the strange thing is that it works fine with the app on the laptop, so I suspect it's not the DEQX that is the problem.
 
Well if it's not letting you do with your DEQX what you want to do, then DEQX ought to be more than willing to help. DEQX are $$EXPENSIVE$$ and "customer service and support" is OWED to people who buy their products.

I have been suggesting to Alan and Kim Ryrie that they ought to have a DEQX Customer Forum where between us users and a moderator these questions could be posted and answered. But they haven't done anything with that suggestion. I own the domain name deqxusers.org and I have half a mind to set up a forum myself.

Please do it. The users need somewhere to get together and discuss. If they won't do it then you should. I know a couple of the DEQX guys so i'll pass this to them.

The RME forum is sensationally helpful, with great input from experts. Something along those lines would be fantastic (keep in mind a dramatically smaller customer base)

it would be nice and useful to exchange experiences .or when there are problems to find out if it is general or exemplary.
In my case at the moment I think the problem is a os updaten I have made a ticket for TIDAL .
 
OK I'll work on it. I have a web server available, all I have to do is find / install decent forum software.

I will also inform DEQX that I am doing this. I don't want them to be pissed off.

Another question: can we configure the analog XLR input as a by-pass (for a HC) ?
(I asked DEQX a while ago....they never answer me) :oops:

Your question about the XLR … I do not know What You Mean by (HC)

the bypass on an analog input allows you to connect a Home cinema preamp, and to use the volume of the latter, the volume of the DEQX being bypassed at 0db ;)
 
Anyone of the DEQX user experience a sprak now or then .
Over the speakers ! sounds like there is Some static electricity or something .
There is no pattern in it Some occours left Some right sometimes nothing for ten or more minutes .

What you are describing sounds like digital dropout ... the most common cause of that is buffer starvation, but also things like poor connection between digital devices causing intermittent signal dropout. Make sure all your cables are firmly inserted. The most common point of failure is at the connectors. Look at the buffer settings in every piece of software in your pipeline and consider increasing it. Using a lower sample rate fills buffers more slowly, and it might help.

But now that you mention it ,for al security i wil try the cd player .

I have twice asked Alan why DEQX has no official forum. I have received no reply.

I own the domain deqxusers.org but haven't set up the website; I looked at some FORUM site packages but haven't chosen one, though I am leaning towards on of the open source PHP versions. If you have any suggestions regarding forum site software, please pass it on to me.

I haven't done much with this, as I am too busy.

I'll write Alan again today to see where the company ( DEQX Pty Ltd ) is regarding a user forum.
