Just received mine last week, DBYH0624.
Lucky you. The entire stock in my country is from December 2022 and no planes to restock in the next 5 months or so until they run out... I'm now waiting for the dealer to authorize a special order for a newer Rev unit...

How does this AVR compare to X3600h in regarding listening to music in 2.0 or 2.1

How about with Dirac?

Which one to buy from these two models?

There will be no difference, really. Audyssey MultEQ XT 32 is pretty comparable to Dirac as long as you use the $20 app to eliminate the midrange dip and limit it to under 500Hz or so.

Although I'd ask why you want an AVR for 2.0/2.1 rather than something meant for 2-channel?

Thanks for the fast reply!

Because all my life I listen to music on AVR's, just sometimes when I watch movies, I connect the satelites, then long time I dont watch movies in that romm, and I detach the satelite speakers. Is it significant and audible the difference listening to music on AVR like X3600/x4800 to an AMP for the sme price range?

Not really. If you want to be able to use the same device and speakers for occasional multichannel usage for movies, then an AVR makes sense.

Yes, I do it( not often) but atleast I can also connect my laptop and TV to listen to music with the AVR. I guess no need to buy an AMP

Right. Between the X3600H and the X4800H I'd just go with whatever fits your budget best. The newer one is newer and has the option for Dirac, but like I said that probably won't make a meaningful difference over the X3600H if you'd rather save the price difference. I don't see the X3600H for sale anywhere, but I do see a refurb X3700H for $900.

Not to hijack the thread but you get Dirac with this one and over twice the w/ch, $823
No, the W/ch figure is seriously overinflated:
250 W/Ch (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 channel driven)
Notice that's for 1kHz (instead of a full 20Hz-20kHz) and at 10% THD for only 1 channel driven. That's a seriously abnormal way of rating power, plainly done just to post a big number. Also that Onkyo is on the same platform as all the other Onkyos and Pioneers that exhibit an undocumented power limiting mode that's completely hidden from the user.

That said, the RZ-50 is likely totally fine for most people's usage.

Correct Amir got 136 watts with two channels driven at 8 ohms, should be higher at the the rated 6 ohms. Dirac adds $300 to any Denon when purchased separately. There is a thread on the Onkyo with quite a few happy users, not all. Seems like a deal for the budget minded $8-900.

You mean, that tuning subwoofer input sensitivity is arcane? Unfortunately no AVR can do it automatically.
I have no such issues on my Denon 3800.

This is a 2021 Voxx issue and for early NAD users w/o Dirac Bass Management. I would imagine once the promised firmware that gives DLBM/DLBC compatibility to the RZ50 shows up, this problem goes away!

Sound like you have never touched knobs on subwoofer. Wait, haven't you?

Looking at some service manual, we can find, that Onkyo used to add +20dB at subwoofer output. Sure you have to turn knob down, when switching for other brands.

My sub has a gain knob that I keep as low as possible. Haven't needed to touch it since calibrating my 3800 first w/Audyssey then second w/Dirac.

Anyone w/a 4800 running Dirac ever need to do the Onkyo workarounds as posted in my AVS link?

Again for the budget minded, Denon 4800h is 2+ of the cost of ZR50 even when discounted and Dirac is optional at an additional cost.

I have Pioneer without DLBM/DLBC and frankly speaking, I don't understand neither the problem nor workarounds. AVR simply works as I like :)

For those who bought their X4800H recently, could you please tell me the 4 digits of the serial # (right after the 4 letters). This is mine: DBYJ1222 which means it was manufactured in December 2022.
Mine is „DBYJ0124….“. Ordered in Nov. 2023 (listed as stock item) but delivered not before April 2024 (!). Lots of phone calls and visiting my dealer resulted in the statement that there were no X4800 available in my country at all from end of Nov. until March.

On the other hand: no issues so far. No humming, no rattling, no nothing that I am aware of.
