After I posted here about the deal, and eventually bought it myself, a kind fellow PM'ed about DP, whic led me to read the comments on mydealz.de. I realized i was not in an easy game. The reasons I kept reminding them, partly because I still, deep inside, hoped for the best, but mostly, I wanted to have proof that they promised and did not keep those promises, should I need to open a dispute with my credit card provider.

This story is a reminder how important a community like this is. You can hear first hand experience which can be much more accurate than the like of Trustpilot
the credit card provider credited money to me today, it's ongoing case but based on the evident, there is not much to debate. Delayed order is one matter, but once the order is cancelled, the transaction should be refunded, simple as that.

They actually asked me for the conversations between me and DP, which I readily provided. Glad I kept all the paper traits in this case.

I don't know if this will hurt my credit rating (never been late on any bills), but I suppose it will add up against DP (one is not enough but many will likely cause the payment provider to increase their fees)

for me it's a case closed, a lesson learned.

finally have a peace of mind to enjoy my x3800h.

Do anyone have a dummy - step by step for a1 evo express setup? Can't seem to find it and my attention span is too short to watch through the video

well, AI can be very helpful
It is real basic and it explains it self. I ran it on the 3800 i picked up. Down load REW. Make sire the API port is running. Download the EVO script and it can finish in five minutes..depending on how many passes you want. Sorry for the late entry.

If I remember right, my X4400H could do it, plotted REW graphs that should show the effects but it was too long ago and I have numerous such graphs so it is very difficult to find them now. All I can do now is to search in the manual such as the following:

So it does seem that as long as you use the 2Ch manual to set the mains to small, you can set crossovers, that's assuming the 4500 works the same as the 4400 but it is still just an assumption, that may prove wrong.
I was doing this with the 4500 and didnt really hear a double bass.i think it actually does this. The 3800 does not have a 2ch set up menu. I checked as I am runnig one again to possibly assess for ART after getting a nice price

I am still waiting on my X3800H. Ordered on 30-12-2025 for 832 euro. Should be in next week.
A few weeks later still haven’t received anything. Story always is “Yes in a few days ….blabla.”. Starting to get worried if this is not a trick and the company soon is bankrupt.

Today I called doublepoint again. Said I wanted my money back. They checked again and new supply would come in next week, maybe. But then they said they had a customer return, open box model. Could have this one for 50 euro less, so I agreed.

It is on its way, will report back when delivered. Sick of all the hassle.

Unless you can claim warranty directly with Denon I would be wary of dealing with this retailer ever again. But as long as you are happy...

I’m not happy at all. A waste of time.

I would not take an open box unit from this company. God knows its provenance.

I meant if I were you I would claim my money back and buy it somewhere. Or wait for the upcoming Easter sales. They have showed how they can lie through their teeth, warranty claim could be another series of headache. Or maybe not, but I'm not interested in finding out.
There were businesses that went out of business or even bankrupt that had more integrity.
But if you are happy (or at least, OK) with your open box replacement...

Agian not happy, but still acceptable. The Denon was 1199 everywhere. But now the price has dropped to just over a thousand euro. I have it for 782 albeit an open box model.

And all this to use dirac and the fact that I have three subs. And therefore replace my X4500H.

In the US, there is a saying that goes "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". You have to decide which side you come out of from this wisdom.

I will always pay more from a retailer I trust!

I really hope that somebody can help me with this. When I turn off my projector (Epson LS650) and I don't turn my X3800h off, the sound of all sources mute.
Turning up the volume does not work. So I have to turn on HDMI control with a complete switch off of the X3800h in order to listen to music (or manually shut off the X3800h after turning off the projector).

The source (optical or HEOS) does not matter, there is no sound. Only once did I have sound after switching the projector off without turning off the Denon, but it was much quieter than normal.

There is no HDMI CEC setting in the projector that prevents this.
Anyone knows this behavior and has a fix?

It's no disaster to turn it off and on again, but it just feels stupid.

I followed my guts and was right. Glad I chose to settle with an open box model, because I was afraid my money was gone. Shortly after doublepoint.nl is bankrupt.

Why wasn't a full refund an option for you? Now if you have issues w/the open box model, you have nowhere to complain!

with luck, hopefully Denon. I don't know about Denon warranty model but many manufacturers will handle warranty directly without involving the retailers.
I only wish people who are still waiting for their orders from DP get some kind of protection (credit card, paypal). I feel responsible as I shared the deal from mydealz.de (it was voted a lot so I did not due diligence on that one, only after I ordered myself) :(

You are not responsible for a bankruptcy.
If people make a purchase online instead of their local dealer, that is the risk they take.

nonetheless I posted the link and people might have purchased from it. It's always up to that person to do due diligence before ordering, but should I have not posted it some people might have avoided some headache

Fair enough, but now you are judging your actions based on the outcome in hindsight. At the moment it was a fine deal and the reviews of the site could be easily found and were mixed.
So again, you are not to blaim.

But still it sucks for unlucky buyers.

Because I had the feeling getting my money back wasn't an option anymore.
