Damn. Just bought the DIrac bundle. Should have realised the Empire (OCA) would strike back!
Will definitely try all options on my 3800x.
Is it easy to switch on the fly between Dirac and Audyssey?

Save Dirac to Speaker Preset 1.
Save Audyssey (OCA) to Speaker Preset 2.
Use the Quick Select options to enable only what you need, such as switching between Dirac and Audyssey.
Press and hold a Quick Select button to store the settings.
After that, you can switch between them easily with a single button.

Did you do separate speaker measurements for Dirac and Evo? Or can you plug the same measurements into both systems? ie same mic positions etc?

I haven’t used Evo yet, but Audyssey and Dirac each have independent Preset 1 and Preset 2, so you can save them separately.

How about a new Evo version with every possible customization possible without any prior REW knowledge ;)

One think I do like (as I like to tweak stuff) about Audy and Dirac, is that you can customize the target curve in any which way I want, no matter how crazy/stupid it looks (I have my own theory on that:)).

So, in addition to picking a target curve, is it possible for you to allow the user to customize the selected target curve post calibration, such as allowing the user to manipulate the curve in a select range (again, similar to Mult EQ X, or Dirac's), or simply allow the user to pick selected frequency points, such as when REW show a bump at 50 Hz, to input the desired cut in dB (or even boost in that case need to have a limit) and a "Q" , that is, similar to using PEQ. If that's too much to ask, okay, thank you for considering it regardless.

After Evo completes its optimization, "optionally" you can open REW EQ window on any of the speakers and apply up to 20 custom filters provided by REW (including allpass), you can use REW's auto-EQ, you can apply FDW, MTW or any other windowing or smoothing to the response first, you can even use a different target curve and target level for that specific speaker and they will all be transferred to the receiver:

You guys always asked for more customization and I have over-delivered :)

Many thanks!!

If you're talking about the current $1440 price, it's been lower within the last week and should hopefully get down to $1100ish for Black Friday.

Not seeing any deals on the x3800h so far. Cyber Monday maybe...?

retailers have started "Black Week" as early as beginning of this month, and most of them started last week
I must admit my patience growing thin ...
I understand, but the possibility the 3800 could go on sale tomorrow is not zero.

absolutely not, but we are not getting great price this year. Most retailers in Europe seem to fix on EUR1000 and not much lower

I think you're forgetting about the tariffs (lucky you if you live in Europe). That's been the big difference b/w this year and last year. On top of that, Denon actually increased the MSRP of the 3800 as well!

A 3800 for around $1100 is about as good as it gets for the remainder of the year!

I am talking about europe. It was €1000 in europe as late as last month, and price increased in November.

Then it's the MSRP increase. I can't imagine it was raised only in the US!

I would be happy with that price. Hoping we see it on sale again for this price.
