In this bench test report of the Anthem MRX 740 & 1140 AV receivers, preamp & amplifier performance is evaluated and compared. We cover Bass management and amplifier matrixing performance recommendations.

"The Anthem MRX740 preamp output section is one of the best I’ve ever measured in an AV receiver. This can be seen by the 3rd harmonic distortion down 108dB below the fundamental 2Vrms output drive at 1kHz. The noise floor is excellent and the power supply hum is down in the mud at -116dB. Excellent!"
True, but you are comparing the measurements on Audioholics.com's test bench, there could be a few dB variance just because of different measuring environments, instruments, operators etc., so while could be totally valid, could also not be a fair comparison. Still, I have no doubt the 740 and 1140 have very good preamp outputs. Practically speaking, I would say the Denon AVR of the same model year such as the X3700, 4700, 6700H, and the 1140's preout performance are equal.
Take a look, the 3rd harmonics was also measured at around -109 dB! The higher order, 5th and 7th, were clearly better than the Anthem's, but again, two different test benches so I wouldn't worry about such minute differences when choosing based on SINAD, especially when it is a single point (1 kHz) test SINAD.
"The Denon AVR-X6800H comes with 11 channels of built-in amplification, delivering a robust power output of 140 watts per channel (8 ohm, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.05% 2ch drive). I
t’s important to note that this power rating is applicable when driving only two channels. When all 11 channels are active, the power output per channel
decreases accordingly."

Anthem under rates their amps. 140WPC or better, 5 channels driven. I drive 11 speakers with the 1140 amps and no distortion, clipping issues. Fronts are Ascend Acoustic ELX/RAAL towers, center is their hefty Horizon/RAAL. Techs are always available, will tweek your ARC files and such.
That is false, please check with the Anthem website, they clearly rated the 1140 140 W into 8 ohms, two channel driven, not 5 and that's for channel 1 to 6 only, the remaining channels are only rated 60 W into 8 ohms, though I actually wouldn't mind that approach as I sit close to the surround channels, but for others, they may have to add external power amps for their surround and/or height speakers, so that's hardly an advantage over Denon or Marantz's.

I don't hear the 1140 fans either. They are quiet in my unit.
Consider yourself lucky, quite a few owners, including some on here on ASR have experienced noise issues with their Anthem AVRs, or AVPs.
Precisely, for those sensitive to fan noise, they might need luck lol...
As to your other remarks on ARC Genesis being better etc., I would just ignore those, because that's not necessarily facts based, but opinions only, unless you have hard evidence such as detailed measurements for comparisons, like some of us on ASR have done on the Anthem AVR and ARC G threads.
Again, those MRX are excellent gear in terms of preamp/DAC, no argument from me, but suffice to say it is better to separate opinions from facts based on available data, on that side of the equation, there are going to be good arguments on both side when comparing them to other products such as Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Sony, Onkyo and others.
