Denon avcx8500x

Hi my avc-x8500h turns on but from any mode m.vol goes straight up to 98.0 .. as I manually adjust the volume knob it automatically returns to 98.0 on display . Thinking it was a remote jammed on .. removed batteries no change reinstalled batteries. Also noted the amp not responding to remote batteries inserter correctly also have 2nd remote also not working on amp..

I'd try a soft reset first (unplug the avr from power for a bit). Maybe a factory/microprocessor reset if that doesn't do it.

Factory microprocessor reset ? Is that the same as push powerbutton as well as info and back button at once . Did this got no change...

Help troubleshooting broken Denon AVR-8500

My Denon X8500 stopped working today. :mad: It powers on but has no sound. I don't hear the clicking of the relays when I switch the source, mute on/off, or plug the headphones. All my input sources (TV and Blu-ray) are HDMI. Cold to the touch. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Didn't look at the manual for this particular unit but sounds like the routine for some avrs. Soft reset did nothing?
