Denon 2023 range X3900H/X4900H/X6800H announcement....!!??

For general buggyness is the firmware up-to-date? I guess it may take a little while to shake out teething problems. You are a very early adopter here.

But I'd look into trying the built in cable test feature anyway. It is great if the AVR can confirm for you that the cable should work full bandwidth. It allows you to rule out that possibility.
Good new, it can't be the AVR! :(
Support says:
With the information provided, indicating no dropouts on the TV's YouTube app suggests that the issue is not with the receiver. I recommend testing a different HDMI cable for both the PC and TV.

Being that there are no audio dropouts with an alternative source, such as the TV itself, it confirms that the receiver is not the cause of the problem.

With HDMI, I know it's always the cable but be fair, the only thing that changed was the AVR.

I just ran another much shorter HDMI cable (Zeskit Maya 2.1 HDMI) around the wall into the other room and it has the same issue. Here is a pic.

Even with this different shorter cable I see the audio go in and out on the X6800H display in time with the audio dropouts. The X6500H never did this. Here is a link to the video of the display and the audio dropping out. You may have to turn it up as the speakers are in the other room.

Just now I did a simple test setup with the old X6500H and it's rock solid.

The are now wanting me to send it in for service. Lame.
Just a hunch, because a while ago a had kind of similar issue. Try to ground the chassis of the AVR or even use the dedicated turntable grounding port. You can cut open 3 wire power cord, cut and isolate the live wires and just use the ground. This way you have a pure-ground-power-plug and plug this one into the outlet. See if this improves your issue.

I don't know your audio chain though, but it might worth a try and you have nothing to loose.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you just attach a 3 prong adapter plug instead of cutting open the plug?

If under the same exact conditions, the issue has been with the X6800H but not with the X6500H, then logically speaking the AVR has to be the issue. Did you let Denon support know that the X6500H is fine under the same conditions, ie same hook up, same HDMI cable?

As far at the grounding, and the reference made to 3 prong plug etc., I wouldn't suggest doing any of those, those AVR are designed for use with the supplied two prong power cord and that's the one you should use. In some cases, where people experienced ground loops related hum (not in your case), they might attempt to modify the grounding schemes on such AVRs, though that rarely would work, lots of times people just believe it would work, based on forum hearsay.

Can you please explain the issue and under what conditions it happens? Do you have only audio dropouts when playing Atmos from Apple TV 4K or also video dropouts? My brand new X4800H is experiencing audio dropouts but only when I play atmos from my HTPC. This never happens with my old X4400H with the same HDMI cable and setup.

The dealer says that since it doesn't happen with other sources such as my Nvidia Shield or Ziddo player, then it must be a FW bug which should be resolved after future updates...

I've contacted Denon support and waiting for their reply...
