DC power supply suggestions?

I assume as with most engineering design trumps methodology, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for reasonably priced DC power supplies, be it LPS or switching.

Looking for any personal experiences .. or better yet, measurements.

Can you define the requirements? Having an accurate target to shoot at is 95% of getting the right answer.

Mostly the typical 5V 1A for digital components. I have a 12V 2A device also that maybe worthwhile playing with an external PSU.

I'd look at the Silent Switcher. I have two samples of it in house and can confirm the superb measurements. It runs off a USB port, but the get the full 1A you're looking for, use just about any 5-9V (or so) supply that's cheap and convenient to power it.

SIY, do you have yours in a case? Any recommendations?

I have one mounted inside the case of the preamp it powers, the other is mounted inside a Radio Shack project box (faaaaancy!).
