Does anyone know how Dayton Audio determines or measures the sensitivity specification of their drivers?
According to the attached datasheet, I would have expected this tweeter to have a sensitivity of around 94 dB SPL, based on the relatively flat part of the frequency response between roughly 2 kHz and 5 kHz. However, the datasheet states a sensitivity of 91 dB SPL.
Do they measure sensitivity at 1 kHz? Or do they take the entire usable frequency range (for example, from about 2.5 kHz to 20 kHz) and calculate some kind of average value?
I need to adjust the tweeter level to match the sensitivity of a woofer, so I'd like to know which SPL value I should use as a reference for this adjustment.
