I'm shooting in the dark but worth a try,
@L0rdGwyn : what is the voltage rating of the 66uF caps that you bought? I would like to get same form factor as well...
Also, I will appreciate it if you point me to a schematic with voltages/parts listed..
I found this cutie in a local junk store, it works well as a preamp and no issues even when volume is increased all the way.
When used as a headphones amp with Sony MDR 7506, audible hum appears after about 12'o clock with half of the 6sn7 tubes that I have and the rest half hum along as soon as it warms up.
I'm planning to connect an external filament DC supply using a 6V/120 watt adapter.
