I have a Fiio M21. When I send audio from the LO 3.5mm output to the power amplifier via coax, is the audio converted back to analog in the amplifier's DAC, or is it transmitted analog through the M21's chip? I would be very grateful if you could provide me with some information.
Also, can I get better performance than the Fiio K7 RCA connection with this connection type?
Regards.

When you use the included Aux to Coax adapter cable to send SPDIF out to your amplifier, then the audio stays fully digital until it reaches the DAC built into your amplifier.

There is is converted to Analog, then sent to the Amp and the speakers.

Whether you can get better performance than the K7 that way, depends entirely on what kind of DAC is built into your amplifier.

Thank you for your response.

I was thinking the same thing, but for some reason I'm not sure. I can't use the M21's chip in any way this way. There's almost no difference between connecting via HDMI and not using it.

I don't understand, sorry

I am very sorry.
I said there is no difference between connecting the DENON AMPLIFIER to the computer via HDMI, but of course I did not tell you about my setup before. Sorry.

No difference between Computer->HDMI->Denon and FiiO->SPDIF->Denon?

That's to be expected. Both connections transmit the same data.

The M21 doesn't come with a coax cable. I just ordered the cable FIIO LL-RCA1S and haven't tried it that way. I'm currently using it in PC > Fiio K7 RCA > Denon configuration. I bought an M21 completely arbitrarily and tried some ridiculous things to get the sound color out of it, which I think was a futile effort. I'm very grateful for your interest.
