Danny Richie, GR Research, doesn't recommend a speaker he can't sell an "upgrade" kit for

He should update his website then.
Danny must be reading this thread... has been altered now;
Full-refunds are only possible if cancelled within 24- hours. (standard 3% cancellation fee still applies)
Partial Refund: Once assembly has begun on your order, only a partial refund is possible up, to the remaining cost of labor and materials at time of cancellation.
No refunds OR cancellations at, or after, the time of completion/delivery
trail period
I do hope it didn't say trail before, rather than trial. ;)

Speaking of snake oil has anyone measured the effects of Shakti Stones? They sell for around $200 and are advertised to absorb electromagnetic and microwave radiation.

Even more amazing are the Hallograph Soundfield Optimizer that sells for $1500.

Archimago's Blogspot did a deep dive on the audibility of cross-over upgrades and Danny's products.

He references ASR and @ctrl and @MAB and their excellent threads on the audibility of cross-over components.

Did I mention it was a deep dive?

Danny Richie does this not in the spirit of sharing how to improve the speakers as a fellow DIY enthusiast because he does not publish his designs freely as other DIY'ers typically do on various forums; rather, he has something more expensive to sell you.
... says it all really.

He missed the chance to call him out for measuring a Jamo Concert speaker with a faulty tweeter, or for that $755 crossover kit for the Cerwin Vega 316, a speaker that can be found for as little as 150.

Lol, thanks for sharing this comprehensive musing! I just perused and maybe will read after I finish my books expiring on my free trial of Kindle Unlimited.;)

There’s already a thread called ‘Extreme Snake Oil’ in the General Audio Discussion section. Better to ask there vs going OT in this thread.

I saw Danny's new video as he is selling his new interconnects and speaker cables. He makes a disclaimer at the end that AliExpress is selling cables that look just like his and don't be confused as they are not the same. LOL

Yeah you order from the same mfg with an insignificant difference ?

Of note is, he says money-back guarantee on the cables. "You pay the shipping."
He also charged me his credit card transaction fee when I returned the power cable. All in all, I think I got hit with almost $100 in fees to buy and return his AC cable.

Danny Richie from GR Research doesn't recommend a speaker (KEF LS50 Meta) which he can't sell an "upgrade" kit, which costs "half the price" of the speaker. I know, "shocking".

As I replied in a different post concerning GR research "how does he get away with those reviews without getting sued by the multitude of major manufacturers he has bashed."???

I don't think he should get sued. He examines a product and provides mods. That said, the day will come that he will mod a Tekton type product where he will get a threatening letter.....

The speaker cable in question, I believe.

I find it hard to believe that this isn’t the same cable.

I wonder why some people feel comfortable making such claims. It seems like someone could easily buy both cables and reveal the truth. I don’t think I could manage a business like that and sleep at night.
