Danny at GR getting bad Talk Back from many of his viewers

On the other hand, one might ask: Which tests—other than those conducted by Amir himself—would be accepted here on ASR?
Maybe Erin's, but after that, the list gets pretty thin.

Conclusion: Amir has to test it himself.

All of us seem to have "acceptance here on ASR", despite the fact I do mine on a rotating shop stool in my basement and haven't done as good a job as Ageve at controlling for mic-stand and other reflections. You can go look up tests from a variety of people on ASR's review index.
I don't agree with your conclusion.
But does he even want to?
He has tested Danny's speakers that were sent to him in the past and found good and bad. In general he seems to want to test speakers sent to him, even eager.

That's because he knows that we love watching a good trainwreck.

I fail to understand why this topic has been avoided for years. I SMELL A COVERUP!

Could Danny upgrade components of a 1980s white van speaker to a state of the art 1990s white van speaker......... and what would he charge for the upgraded components.

THE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!

Danny posting some of his own measurements would be a good start.

I mean a bit of a stretch, but maybe "Sterephile" but honestly even their measurements are just semi-okay to me.

Which more importantly brings up the issue of the lack of decent measurements other than the Two well known to us, and maybe Sterephile.
I find the idea that there are hardly any “decent measurements” outside Amir, Erin, and perhaps Stereophile rather absurd.

It might be useful to distinguish between people who publish measurements today and the people and institutions that actually developed the measurement technology being used.

The Klippel NFS, whose measurements are so highly regarded at ASR and Erin’s Audio Corner, did not exactly appear out of thin air. It grew out of a decades-long tradition of electroacoustic research in Germany. Wolfgang Klippel has long been closely associated with TU Dresden, and the foundations of his loudspeaker diagnostics are the result of decades of research into linear and nonlinear loudspeaker behaviour.

And Klippel certainly did not work in isolation. Anselm Goertz was part of that same German electroacoustics community. Goertz, Dieter Leckschat and Wolfgang Klippel were already publishing work together on nonlinear loudspeaker equalisation in 1991. Goertz has published extensively for decades on subjects including loudspeaker measurement, listening tests, and the relationship between measurable parameters and perceived sound quality.

Nor has this expertise somehow disappeared. The Audio Communication Group at TU Berlin, for example, has been conducting research and educating students in electroacoustics, psychoacoustics and measurement technology for decades. Stefan Weinzierl and Anselm Goertz have, among other things, taught courses on acoustic measurement techniques for loudspeakers, covering linear and nonlinear measurement methods as well as practical measurements in an anechoic chamber.

ASR and Erin do provide something genuinely valuable: they make high-quality, standardised loudspeaker measurements accessible and comparable for a large audience. But they neither invented loudspeaker measurement technology nor are they the only competent people in the world capable of performing such measurements.

The fact that Amir, Erin and others can use a Klippel NFS today is actually a very good illustration of just how much scientific and engineering work has already been done before a reviewer can even press “Start Measurement.”

I was talking about actual measurements we TODAY can find on current speakers.

Otherwise, I believe you think I meant far more than I did................
Never said they "Invented" anything, just that there are not a lot of accurate measurements on speakers Currently.

The topic was about Current speaker measurements WE can all read about and discuss, no more no less....

Just noticed Danny's latest video knocking Dennis Murphy for their findings at a GTG where expensive crossover parts were blind tested. Notice he never li is the info, just passed on his interpretation of it. Not only is this from around 2004, but his personal attacks are not new. I remember when this happened and Danny was fighting about it on a few boards. His biggest mistake is not understanding what fast switching means with an ABX/Blind Test.

it's not a mistake. he's just a grifter, and he's gotta maintain the grift.
Definitely, but why he chose this discussion from 22 years ago and attacking Dennis Murphy doesn't seem to help him considering Dennis was doing free.to the public upgrades that didn't include crossover parts upgrades. I'm wondering if someone brought it up in comments from another post. I'd be willing to wager 100k if he could pick out the better cap under almost any circumstance/condition.

Da hell? Picking a fight with Dennis Murphy? Dennis has done a lot to bring affordably accurate audio to consumers. I guess that's threatening to Danny.

I actually took part in the test that Bob Cordell conducted at Dayton DIY that same 2004 year. Dennis was there the year prior, and where we first crossed paths, but not 2004.

As I recall, it was not the same rig as Neil Davis cobbled together for the DC event, and Bob changed a few things as to how he conducted the test. Bob used his M3 design, a small all Morel bookshelf 3way utilizing a Cascaded 1st order crossover for comparison between an industrial cap not unlike a GE or similar, and a SoniCap Gen1, original mfr version.

It was an interesting experience, without saying much more.

Precisely. Dennis is doing great work and providing excellent speakers at great prices. It's a threat to what Danny does.

Oh boy! Danny just tore apart the Fyne F500 on his Youtube channel. I admit, I have skin in the game, having bought these speakers a week ago!
Funny though, I am not hearing the many problems he describes. Nor have the many reviewers who have reviewed them.
The Fynes use a coaxial driver. I wonder if Danny somehow screwed up his measurements.

I don’t think the post you are responding to was about *inventing* measurements as opposed to *making measurements of popular equipment available”

I don’t believe Fyne are a measurement led manufacturer.
