Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

Wow, well that's extremely rude of the Dan Clarke rep, I can barely picture how you'd turn up at a trade fair for the purpose of showing off your products to potential customers and then behave like that, that's really rude of him!
Especially considering the cost of exhibiting, unfortunately not uncommon though, shows are possibly seen by some employees ad ‘jolly’s’ when in fact they are hard work.

Hey guys. I ordered the Stealth as B-stock in March 2023. On the 23th of December my left driver became very quiet all of a sudden ( around 10db). The shop I ordered from only offered a repair but DCA couldn't do it and just send a new pair which I got today. Ironically the Stealth got a Stealth revision because I can now see a part of the driver behind the earpads. Anybody knows what's up with that?

If I remember correctly, I couldn't see the shiny part with my old, broken model. I could only see the structure of the meta material.

The production date of mine is somewhere in November 2022, so not one of the earliest batches, but it shows the driver in the same way.

Exemplary customer service!

My older model had a previous owner who send it back to the shop. Maybe that one is older. I'll ask DCA directly about this. Maybe I'm just imagining this though.

I bought it from DCA's online shop in fall 2021. Photos without and with flash.

After almost 3 years of salivation and some other equipment sold they finally arrived! The sentence from Amir that I fell more align with is: They sound like the best audio system. I just need now to find a portable dac+amp that will be able to drive those to a similar level of detail I get out of the ADI-2 DAC, any suggestions? I own a e1da 9032s , should I but a 2.5mm cable or am I wasting money and time?

The E1DA 9038S (I assume that's the one you meant?) can drive the Stealth to about 110dB SPL Peak.

Whether that's loud enough, only you can answer.

For reference, my usual listening volume is roughly 10% of what the 9038S+DCA Stealth is capable of.

Yes, 9038S! Thanks for sharing this, I'll order the cable.

Would the RME ADI - 2 DAC FS be okay ( enough power ) for Dan Clark Stealth ??

Thank you

Depends on what music you listen to. I listen to classical, which is normally mastered at a low volume. So the ADI-2 only reached acceptable volume when it was maxed out. This is why I returned my ADI-2. Most people don't have a problem with "regular" music.

I listen rock, heavy metal, pop, EDM, reggae, country..... No classical, jazz, hip hop or rap

" So the ADI-2 only reached acceptable volume when it was maxed out "
Does this apply for Stealth, right ? I have no issues with Denon D9200 / Beyerdynamic t5 3rd generation - volume
At -15 dB I'm okay, loud enough for me
Thank you

With Denon (117 dB/V) you should use EMI stage (760 mV max) if its first gen ADI-2 (AKM).

I use the ADI-2 DAC with the Stealth and it is always loud enough for me with rock/metal/pop. I agree with @Keith_W though, very high dynamic range or very quiet masters can be too challenging for loud playback.
I am almost always below -30dB (mostly metal, some rock, pop, blues, rarely jazz or classical), so for me the ADI-2 DAC is sufficient.

Thank you so much, guys.
I'm ready to pull the trigger, DC Stealth seems to be the perfect closed back.
I was undecided between Focal Stellia, ZMF Caldera Closed, DC E3 / Stealth, Kennerton Rognir and Meze Liric 2
Couldn't find much about Stealth - sound leakage

Sphynxx, did you listen to both E3 and Stealth? If not, you may be better off with E3. For example Super Review listened to both and gave 3 stars (average) to DCA Stealth and 5 stars to DCA E3 (excellent). So perfection is still a very personal thing.

No, I didn't.
I'll have to watch this review, thank you
What exactly "makes" the E3, better than the Stealth ?
Are they both, E3 and Stealth, same - power hungry ?
LE : 2 stars out of 5, for Stealth , 3 stars for Expanse and 5 stars for E3
